Abstract

A web-based method implemented by at least one computing device for automating a medical treatment plan is described. Content related to a program that is associated with a medical treatment is identified. The identified content is digitized. The digitized content is stored in a database. The identified content is provided to a patient via user interface to assist the patient who is associated with the medical treatment.

Claims

What is claimed is:

1 . A web-based method implemented by one or more computing devices for administering medical care in relation to a user, the method comprising steps to:
determine, using one or more computing devices, a status relating to a user's medical care; determine if content or an escalation procedure is associated with the status; initiate the escalation procedure upon determining that the escalation procedure is associated with the status; and cause the content to be sent to the user upon determining that the content is associated with the status.

2 . The web-based method of claim 1 , wherein the status indicates whether an activity associated with the medical care has or has not been properly completed by the user.

3 . The web-based method of claim 1 , wherein the status indicates whether the user experienced a problem.

4 . The web-based method of claim 1 , wherein method further comprises one or more steps to:
receive data associated with medical treatment of a user; and determine the status based on the received data.

5 . The web-based method of claim 4 , wherein the received data specifies whether the user has completed an activity relating to the medical care.

6 . The web-based method of claim 4 , wherein the received data specifies whether the user experienced one of a plurality of predefined problems.

7 . The web-based method of claim 4 , wherein method further comprises one or more steps to:
receive data corresponding to one or more vital readings associated with the patient.

8 . The web-based method of claim 1 , wherein the content is sent to the user when no escalation procedure is associated with the status.

9 . A system for administering medical care in relation to a user, the system comprising one or more processors operable to:
determine, using one or more computing devices, a status relating to a user's medical care; determine if content or an escalation procedure is associated with the status; initiate the escalation procedure upon determining that the escalation procedure is associated with the status; and cause content to be sent to the user upon determining that the content is associated with the status.

10 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the content is sent to the user when no escalation procedure is associated with the status, and wherein the one or more processors are further operable to:
receive data associated with medical treatment of a user; and determine the status based on the received data.

11 . The system of claim 10 , wherein the received data specifies whether the user has completed an activity relating to the medical care, and wherein the status indicates whether an activity associated with the medical care has or has not been properly completed by the user.

12 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the received data further specifies whether the user experienced one of a plurality of predefined problems, wherein another status indicates whether the user experienced a problem, and wherein the one or more processors are further operable to:
determine if other content or another escalation procedure is associated with the other status; initiate the other escalation procedure upon determining that the other escalation procedure is associated with the other status; and cause the other content to be sent to the user upon determining that the other content is associated with the other status.

13 . The system of claim 12 , wherein the one or more processors are further operable to:
receive data corresponding to one or more vital readings associated with the patient.

14 . A computer program product comprising a non-transitory computer usable medium having a computer readable program code embodied therein, said computer readable program code adapted to be executed to implement a method for administering medical care in relation to a user, the method comprising steps to:
determine, using one or more computing devices, a status relating to a user's medical care; determine if content or an escalation procedure is associated with the status; initiate the escalation procedure upon determining that the escalation procedure is associated with the status; and cause content to be sent to the user upon determining that the content is associated with the status.

15 . The computer program product of claim 14 , wherein the content is sent to the user when no escalation procedure is associated with the status, and wherein method further comprises one or more steps to:
receive data associated with medical treatment of a user; and determine the status based on the received data.

16 . The computer program product of claim 15 , wherein the received data specifies whether the user experienced one of a plurality of predefined problems, and wherein the status indicates whether the user experienced a problem.

17 . The computer program product of claim 16 , wherein the received data further specifies whether the user has completed an activity relating to the medical care, wherein another status indicates whether an activity associated with the medical care has or has not been properly completed by the user, and wherein the method further comprises one or more steps to:
determine if other content or another escalation procedure is associated with the other status; initiate the other escalation procedure upon determining that the other escalation procedure is associated with the other status; and cause the other content to be sent to the user upon determining that the other content is associated with the other status.

18 . The computer program product of claim 17 , wherein method further comprises one or more steps to:
receive data corresponding to one or more vital readings associated with the patient.
