233 . A method for facilitating wagers in a fantasy sports application, the method comprising:
receiving a first user input defining a wager rule of a fantasy sports contest, wherein the wager rule is stored in a storage medium; receiving a second user input placing a wager related to the fantasy sports contest; comparing the wager to the wager rule; determining, using a processing circuitry, whether the wager corresponds to the wager rule; and in response to determining that the wager corresponds to the wager rule, transmitting the wager.
234 . The method of claim 233 , wherein the wager rule determines whether the wager can be placed between one or more inter-league contests, intra-league contests, and/or out of league contests of the fantasy sports contest.
235 . The method of claim 233 , wherein placing the wager relates to at least one of fantasy sports points, points redeemable for prizes, non-cash prizes, and/or money.
236 . The method of claim 233 , wherein the wager is based on a real-life event.
237 . The method of claim 233 , wherein the wager is transmitted to one or more user selected participants of the fantasy sports contest.
238 . The method of claim 233 , wherein the wager rule defines a limit on an amount of at least one of fantasy sports points, points redeemable for prizes, non-cash prizes, and/or money a user is allowed to wager.
239 . The method of claim 238 , wherein the limit is based on an account balance of the user.
240 . The method of claim 233 further comprising, in response to determining whether the wager corresponds to the wager rule, authorizing the wager.
241 . The method of claim 233 further comprising:
determining a predetermined limit on a number of wagers that may be associated with a user based on the wager rule; and
preventing the user from placing additional wagers when the user reaches the predetermined limit.
242 . The method of claim 233 , wherein transmitting the wager comprises transmitting alternatives to wagering for money when wagering for money is not legally permitted in a geographic region of a user.
243 . A system for facilitating wagers in a fantasy sports application, the system comprising:
a processing circuitry configured to:
receive a first user input defining a wager rule of a fantasy sports contest, wherein the wager rule is stored in a storage medium;
receive a second user input placing a wager related to the fantasy sports contest;
compare the wager to the wager rule;
determine whether the wager corresponds to the wager rule; and
transmit the wager in response to determining that the wager corresponds to the wager rule.
244 . The system of claim 243 , wherein the wager rule determines whether the wager can be placed between one or more inter-league contests, intra-league contests, and/or out of league contests of the fantasy sports contest.
245 . The system of claim 243 , wherein placing the wager relates to at least one of fantasy sports points, points redeemable for prizes, non-cash prizes, and/or money.
246 . The system of claim 243 , wherein the wager is based on a real-life event.
247 . The system of claim 243 , wherein the wager is transmitted to one or more user selected participants of the fantasy sports contest.
248 . The system of claim 243 , wherein the wager rule defines a limit on an amount of at least one of fantasy sports points, points redeemable for prizes, non-cash prizes, and/or money a user is allowed to wager.
249 . The system of claim 248 , wherein the limit is based on an account balance of the user.
250 . The system of claim 243 , wherein the processing circuitry is further configured to authorize the wager in response to determining whether the wager corresponds to the wager rule.
251 . The system of claim 243 , wherein the processing circuitry is further configured to:
determine a predetermined limit on a number of wagers that may be associated with a user based on the wager rule; and prevent the user from placing additional wagers when the user reaches the predetermined limit.
252 . The system of claim 243 , wherein the processing circuitry is configured to transmit the wager by transmitting alternatives to wagering for money when wagering for money is not legally permitted in a geographic region of a user.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
