Abstract

Methods and kits for treating inflammatory conditions are described that include modulating kallikrein 6 protease activity.

A method for treating arthritis, lupus, or asthma, wherein said method comprises administering, to a mammal having arthritis, lupus, or asthma, an amount of a serine protease inhibitor effective to inhibit kallikrein 6 (K6) activity and treat said arthritis, lupus, or asthma. 
     
     
         18 . The method of  claim 17 , wherein said method further comprises monitoring said arthritis, lupus, or asthma in said mammal. 
     
     
         19 . The method of  claim 17 , wherein said method comprises treating arthritis. 
     
     
         20 . The method of  claim 17 , wherein said method comprises treating lupus. 
     
     
         21 . The method of  claim 17 , wherein said method comprises treating asthma.
