Abstract
The invention pertains to methods of treating cardiovascular disease by modulating inflammatory and immunoregulatory responses associated with such pathological conditions. Embodiments of the invention provide methods for the treatment of cardiovascular disease comprising administering an effective amount of one or more IL-17 antagonists, IL-18 antagonists, 4-1BB antagonists, CD30 antagonists, OX40 antagonists and/or CD39 alone or in any combination.

1 . A method of reducing inflammation in cardiomyopathy, comprising administering to a subject having cardiomyopathy a composition comprising an antibody that specifically binds human IL-17 comprising SEQ ID NO:2 and inhibits said IL-17 from binding a human IL-17 receptor comprising SEQ ID NO:4.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the antibody is a monoclonal antibody.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the composition further comprises a pharmaceutically acceptable diluent.
4 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the composition further comprises a pharmaceutically acceptable diluent.
