Abstract

Multi-storey ICF building having concrete walls poured into insulated concrete forms with adjustments mounted between floors and an outside foam layer and guides for an inside for layer. ICF buildings can be constructed with greater than three stories and masonry or stucco exteriors without the use of supplementary forms.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 - 24 . (canceled)

25 . A multi-storey building having vertical walls formed using a plurality of insulated concrete forms, said forms each having two layers of foam spaced apart from one another by ties to form a core, said vertical walls including openings for doors and windows, said building comprising a guide for an inside foam layer of said forms located on a floor for each storey, said building having floors embedded in said vertical walls, said forms having a channel located at an uppermost level for each storey that is to be embedded in said wall at each channel, said core containing reinforcing rods, said core being filled with concrete, with supports extending directly or indirectly between said concrete and said outside foam layer at each channel, said supports being at least partially embedded in said vertical wall.

26 . A multi-storey building having vertical walls formed using a plurality of insulated concrete forms, said forms each having two layers of foam spaced apart from one another by a pre-determined distance to form a core for receiving fresh concrete, said vertical walls including doors and windows, said building comprising a guide for an inside foam layer of said two layers of said forms located on an upper surface of a floor for each storey, there being a plurality of guides, said guides being in vertical alignment with one another for each wall.

27 . A multi-storey building having vertical walls formed using a plurality of insulated concrete forms, said forms each having two layers of foam spaced apart from one another by a pre-determined distance to form a core, said vertical walls including doors and windows, said building comprising floors embedded in said vertical walls, each form having an inside foam layer and an outside foam layer comprising said two layers of foam, said forms having part of said inside foam layer with a channel located therein for each floor that is embedded in said vertical wall to create cut forms, with adjustments extending directly or indirectly between said wall and said outer foam layer adjacent to said channel of said cut forms, said core being filled with concrete, said adjustments extending within said concrete at each floor that is embedded in said vertical wall.

28 . A multi-storey building having vertical walls formed using a plurality of insulated concrete forms, said forms each having two layers of foam spaced apart from one another by a pre-determined distance to form a core therebetween, said vertical walls including openings for doors and windows having frames thereon, said building comprising retention means located in an exterior surface of each frame in such a manner that said retention means are embedded in concrete when said concrete is poured, a mesh located on an outer surface of each frame in such a manner that the mesh is embedded in concrete when said concrete is poured, said mesh being wide enough to extend along an outside of said frame, around said outside foam layer and partially along a front of said exterior foam layer, said concrete filling said core, said mesh having an interior section that is embedded in said concrete and an exterior section that is embedded in a stucco mixture.

29 . A multi-storey building having vertical walls formed using a plurality of insulated concrete forms, said forms each having two layers of foam spaced apart from one another by a predetermined distance to form a core therebetween, said vertical walls including openings for doors and windows with frames thereon, said frames for said windows being constructed of foam pieces that are inserted between said two layers of foam and held in place by adhesive.

30 . A multi-storey building as claimed in claim 29 wherein said building exceeds three storeys.

31 . A multi-storey building comprising at least one vertical wall made from insulated concrete forms, said forms having two layers of foam separated by a pre-determined distance to define a core, said at least one vertical wall being constructed on a base which framed openings therein for any doors and windows, said two layers of foam being an inside foam layer and an outside foam layer, said forms being stacked on said base and on one another to form said at least one wall, said at least one wall extending for a plurality of stories, at least one of said plurality of stories having a floor that is embedded in said at least one wall, said wall containing reinforcing rods, said inside foam layer having a horizontal channel therein that is sized and shaped to allow an end of said floor to be embedded in said at least one wall, said core being filled with concrete, said end of said floor being embedded in said vertical wall, a plurality of supports extending between said outside foam layer adjacent to said channel and directly or indirectly to said concrete in said wall, said supports being mounted to straighten and support said outside foam layer before concrete is poured to embed said floor in said at least one wall, said supports being embedded in said concrete when said concrete is poured.

32 . A multi-storey building as claimed in claim 31 .wherein there is a guide located on each floor, said guide being in vertical alignment for each wall with an inside foam layer of each previous floor, a first row of said forms on each floor having an inside foam layer that is inserted into said guide.

33 . A multi-storey building as claimed in claim 32 wherein said building has a stucco exterior and there are retention means located at each window and door opening˜said retention means being embedded in said concrete and extending around said opening to an outer surface of said outside foam layer, said retention means on said outer surface being embedded in said stucco.
