What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A hand held ironing board comprising:
 a board having a front surface that is essentially flat, a perimeter shape with a surface, and a rear surface;   an appendage or appendages, for single hand operation, mounted to said rear surface of said board,   
     
     
         2 . The hand held ironing board as claimed in  claim 1 , wherein said appendage is a handle. 
     
     
         3 . The hand held ironing board as claimed in  claim 1 , wherein said appendage is a heat resistant glove-like apparatus.
