Method for transmitting short messages
Abstract
A method for transmitting short messages ( 5 ) in a telecommunications network ( 10 ) is proposed, which enables especially simple, convenient downloading of data fields ( 15, 20, 25, 30 ) of the short message ( 5 ) from a network operator ( 70 ). A notice is sent to a subscriber ( 60 ) of the telecommunications network ( 10 ) as a function of a short message ( 5 ) transmitted to the telecommunications network ( 10 ) for the subscriber ( 60 ). With the notice, data that include items of information about the makeup and/or content of the short message ( 5 ) are transmitted to the subscriber ( 60 ).
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A system for transmitting short messages and notification messages in a radio telecommunications network, the short messages including makeup and/or content and the notification messages including information about the makeup and/or content, comprising:
a subscriber station of the telecommunications network which a short message is addressed to, the subscriber station receiving a notification message from a central station as a function of the short message stored in the central station, the notification message including information about a makeup and/or content of the short message so that a subscriber evaluates the notification message and requests the central station to transmit the short message based on the notification message, wherein the notification message includes a first item of header information and a second item of header information, the first item of header information including an item of information about a presence of the second item of header information, and the second item of header information including at least one item of information about a type of evaluation of the notification message to be performed, the subscriber station recognizing the notification message based on a difference between the notification message and the short message.
2 . A system as defined in claim 1 , the subscriber station displays the information about the makeup and/or content of the short message on a display device.
3 . A system as defined in claim 2 , wherein the subscriber station displays the information about the makeup and/or content of the short message on the data field in menu-controlled fashion, corresponding menu structures being generated at the subscriber station as a function of the information about the makeup and/or content of the short message.
4 . A system as defined in claim 2 , wherein the subscriber station displays the information about the makeup and/or content of the short message on the display device by means of a directory structure from which at least a part of the short message can be selected for processing.
5 . A system as defined in claim 1 , wherein the subscriber station processes the information about the makeup and/or content of the short message.
6 . A system as defined in claim 1 , wherein the subscriber station comprises an identity module issued by the network operator or a service provider for recognizing the information about the makeup and/or content of the short message.
7 . A system as defined in claim 1 , wherein the subscriber station transmits a command message to the telecommunications network to request at least one data field of the short message.
8 . A system as defined in claim 7 , wherein the subscriber station prepares the command message as a function of at least one user input at an input unit.
9 . A system as defined in claim 7 , wherein the subscriber station prepares the command message automatically as a function of the information about the makeup and/or content of the short message.
10 . A system as defined in claim 7 , wherein the subscriber station prepares the command message as a function of a power scope of the subscriber station assigned to the subscriber and/or as a function of command criteria that are specified by the subscriber.
11 . A system as defined in claim 7 , wherein the subscriber station requests from the telecommunications network at least one data field of the short message by means of a command message embodied as a selection message, and the telecommunications network transmits the at least one requested data field of the short message to the subscriber station.
12 . A system as defined in claim 11 , wherein at least two data fields of the short message that are requested by the subscriber station by the selection message are transmitted simultaneously to the subscriber station.
13 . A system as defined in claim 11 , wherein at least two data fields of the short message that are requested by the subscriber by the selection message are transmitted chronologically separately to the subscriber station.
14 . A system as defined in claim 7 , wherein the subscriber station transmits to the telecommunications network the command message embodied as a delete message, and at least one data field of the short message is deleted as a function of the delete message.
15 . A system as defined in claim 7 , wherein the subscriber station transmits to the telecommunications network the command message embodied as a forwarding message, and at least one data field of the short message is forwarded as a function of the forwarding message to a forward subscriber which is the telecommunications network.
16 . A system as defined in claim 7 , wherein the subscriber station transmits the command message to the telecommunications network in form of a short message to the central station which is a network operator, a notification message is sent to the central station as a function of the command message, and with the notification message data is transmitted to the central station that includes items of information about the makeup and/or content of the command message.
17 . A system as defined in claim 16 , wherein the command message is prepared directly by the subscriber station.
18 . A system as defined in claim 16 , wherein the command message and the notification message are prepared by an identify module of the subscriber issued by a network operator or a service provider.
19 . A system as defined in claim 16 , wherein the central station transmits to the telecommunication network the command message in form of a short message service message by a global system for mobile communications standard, and the notification message which is in the form of a first item of header information and/or second item of header information.
20 . A system as defined in claim 1 , wherein the notification message includes a first data field of the short message, which includes the data having the items of information about the makeup and/or the content of the short message, wherein the subscriber station receives the notification message with a first item of header information and a message, the first item of header information including at least one item of information about the content of the message, the message including the item of information about the makeup and/or content of the short message, wherein the subscriber station receives the notification message with a second item of header information and user data, the first item of header information including an item of information about the presence of the second item of header information, and the second item of header information including at least one item of information about the type of evaluation of the notification message to be performed.
21 . A system as defined in claim 20 , wherein the second item of header information and user data are provided as an element of the message.
22 . A system as defined in claim 20 , wherein the first data field of the short message is transmitted to the subscriber station as the notification message.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
