Fastening device for cables
Abstract
A fastening device for cables includes a fastener and two pivot members. The fastener includes a base body defining a through slot, and a belt extending from the base body. An engaging portion extends from a top wall bounding the through slot. A bottom of the engaging portion defines a number of latching slots. A number of latches are formed on the belt. The belt can be bent, with a distal end of the belt away from the base body extending through the through slot. Thus, the cables are bundled tight between the top of the base body and the belt. The latches engage in the latching slots. The pivot members are pivotably connected to opposite sides of the base body. The pivot members are operable to rotate to force the engaging portion to move up.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A fastening device for cables, comprising:
a fastener comprising a base body defining a through slot extending through front and rear sides of the base body, and a belt extending from the front side of a top of the base body, an engaging portion extending from a top wall bounding the through slot, a bottom of the engaging portion defining a plurality of latching slots arranged in a fore-and-aft direction, a plurality of latches formed on a top surface of the belt arranged in the fore-and-aft direction, wherein the belt is operable to be bent to allow a distal end of the belt away from the base body to extend through the through slot, allowing the cables to be bundled between the base body and the belt, and the latches engage with the latching slots; and two pivot members pivotably connected to opposite sides of the base body, extending through the base body into the through slot and abutting against the engaging portion; the pivot members operable to rotate to drive the engaging portion to disengage the latches from the latching slots, the pivot members abutting against opposite ends of a top surface bounding one of the latching slots.
2 . The fastening device of claim 1 , wherein the engaging portion slantingly extends downward and forward from a rear side of the top wall bounding the through slot.
3 . (canceled)
4 . The fastening device of claim 1 , wherein two through holes are respectively defined in the opposite sides of the base body, each pivot member is pivotably connected to rear and front sidewalls bounding the corresponding through holes.
5 . The fastening device of claim 4 , wherein a pivot hole is defined in each sidewall, the pivot member comprises a pivot tab, and two pins extending from opposite sides of the pivot tab to engage in the corresponding pivot holes.
6 . The fastening device of claim 1 , wherein a plurality of suction cups is attached to a bottom of the base body.
7 . The fastening device of claim 1 , wherein a recess is longitudinally defined in the top surface of the belt, the latches extend up from a bottom wall of the recess.
8 . The fastening device of claim 7 , wherein a lower portion of the engaging portion is received in the recess in response to the belt extending through the through slot.
9 . The fastening device of claim 1 , wherein a slanting guiding surface is formed on a front side of each latch, a front side surface bounding each latching slot is slanting.
10 . The fastening device of claim 1 , wherein a rear side surface bounding each latching slot is substantially perpendicular to the top wall bounding the through slot.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
