Abstract

A method implemented in a user terminal used in a wireless communications system is disclosed. The method comprises receiving an index, referencing a table of indices in which the received index denotes at least a total number of co-scheduled streams and one or more modulation schemes, determining at least one modulation scheme of at least one co-scheduled user based on the referencing, and receiving data signals and processing the data signals by utilizing the at least one modulation scheme, wherein each index of a plurality of the indices in the table denotes a total number of co-scheduled streams and denotes one or more stream indices for a user terminal to which the index is directed. Other methods, systems, and apparatuses also are disclosed.

What is claimed is:

1 . A method implemented in a user terminal used in a wireless communications system, the method comprising:
receiving an index; referencing a table of indices in which the received index denotes at least a total number of co-scheduled streams and one or more modulation schemes; determining at least one modulation scheme of at least one co-scheduled user based on the referencing; and receiving a data signal and processing the data signal by utilizing the at least one modulation scheme, wherein each of plural indices in the table denotes a total number of co-scheduled streams and denotes one or more stream indices for a user terminal to which the index is directed.

2 . A method implemented in a base station used in a wireless communications system, the method comprising:
transmitting an index to a user terminal; and transmitting a data signal to the user terminal, wherein the user terminal references a table of indices in which the received index denotes at least a total number of co-scheduled streams and one or more modulation schemes, determines at least one modulation scheme of at least one co-scheduled user based on the referencing, and processes the data signal by utilizing the at least one modulation scheme, and wherein each of plural indices in the table denotes a total number of co-scheduled streams and denotes one or more stream indices for a user terminal to which the index is directed.

         3 . A wireless communications system comprising:
a base station to transmit an index; and a user terminal to receive the index from the base station, and to reference a table of indices in which the received index denotes at least a total number of co-scheduled streams and one or more modulation schemes, and to determine at least one modulation scheme of at least one co-scheduled user based on the referencing, wherein the user terminal receives a data signal from the base station and processes the data signal by utilizing the at least one modulation scheme, and wherein each of plural indices in the table denotes a total number of co-scheduled streams and denotes one or more stream indices for a user terminal to which the index is directed.
