Abstract
Embodiments of containers such as bowls can include in outer shell, and an inner shell positioned at least in part within the outer shell. The inner shell can be formed from a material such as stainless steel. The outer shell can be formed from a material such as plastic. An anti-slip provision, such as a strip of elastomeric or other material, can be mounted on the outer shell.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 15 . (canceled)
16 . An animal water and food bowl which resists tipping and slipping when being used by the animal and which comprises:
a rigid first shell formed from a thermoplastic, thermosetting, or other plastic material which is resistant to denting and is receptive to paint or ink, the first shell having a top, a bottom having a maximum diameter, and an outer wall extending between the bottom and the top of the first shell in a first substantially straight line, wherein the maximum diameter of the bottom is greater than a length of the outer wall between the top and the bottom of the first shell; a second shell formed from stainless steel and positioned at least in part within the first shell, the second shell having an outer wall extending between a bottom and a top of the second shell in a second substantially straight line; and an anti-slip provision removably mounted on the first shell, wherein the anti-slip provision comprises a ring of an elastomeric material removably mounted in a recess formed in the bottom of the first shell using an interference fit between the ring and the first shell.
17 . The bowl of claim 16 , wherein the outer wall of the second shell has a length between the top and the bottom of the second shell; and the outer wall of the second shell contacts the outer wall of the first shell over a substantial entirety of the length of the outer wall of the second shell.
18 . The bowl of claim 16 , wherein the outer wall of the second shell has a length between the top and the bottom of the second shell; and a diameter of an outer surface of the outer wall of the second shell is substantially equal to a diameter of an adjacent portion of an inner surface of the outer wall of the first shell over a substantial entirety of the length of the outer wall of the second shell.
19 . The bowl of claim 16 , wherein the outer wall of the second shell has a length between the top and the bottom of the second shell; and a spacing between an outer surface of the outer wall of the second shell and an inner surface of the outer wall of the first shell is substantially zero over a substantial entirety of the length of the outer wall of the second shell.
20 . The bowl of claim 16 , wherein the outer wall of the first shell and the outer wall of the second shell are substantially parallel.
21 . The bowl of claim 16 , wherein the first and second substantially straight lines are substantially parallel.
22 . The bowl of claim 16 , wherein the first and second substantially straight lines extend substantially in the same direction.
23 . The bowl of claim 16 , wherein the bowl has a central axis that extends substantially in a vertical direction when the bowl is resting on a horizontal surface, the outer wall of the first shell is oriented at a first angle in relation to the central axis, the outer wall of the second shell is oriented at a second angle in relation to the central axis, and the first and second angles are substantially the same.
24 . The bowl of claim 23 , wherein the first and second angles are greater than zero and less than 90 degrees.
25 . The bowl of claim 16 , wherein an outer surface of the outer wall of the second shell has a first diameter at a location where the outer wall of the second shell adjoins the bottom of the second shell; an inner surface of the outer wall of the first shell has a second diameter at a location adjacent to the location where the outer wall of the second shell adjoins the bottom of the second shell; and the first and second diameters are substantially equal.
26 . The bowl of claim 16 , wherein the second shell has a depth equal to a vertical distance between the top and bottom of the second shell when the bowl is resting on a substantially horizontal surface; the first shell has a minimum depth equal to a vertical distance between the top of the first shell and a highest point on the bottom of the first shell when the bowl is resting on the substantially horizontal surface; and the depth of the second shell is substantially the same as the minimum depth of the first shell.
27 . The bowl of claim 16 , wherein:
the recess is defined at least in part by a first and a second circumferentially-extending surface of the first shell, the first and a second circumferentially-extending surfaces being spaced apart by a distance that defines a width of the recess; the ring has an outer circumferentially-extending surface and an inner circumferentially-extending surface, the outer and inner circumferentially-extending surfaces being spaced apart by a distance that defines a width of the ring; and the width of the recess is substantially equal to the width of the ring whereby the ring is retained within the recess by friction between the first and second circumferentially-extending surfaces of the first shell and the respective outer and inner circumferentially-extending surfaces of the ring.
28 . An animal water and food bowl which resists tipping and slipping when being used by the animal and which comprises:
a rigid first shell formed from a thermoplastic, thermosetting, or other plastic material which is resistant to denting and is receptive to paint or ink, the first shell having a top, a bottom having a maximum diameter, and an outer wall extending between the bottom and the top of the first shell in a first substantially straight line, wherein the maximum diameter of the bottom is greater than a length of the outer wall between the top and the bottom of the first shell; and a second shell formed from stainless steel and positioned at least in part within the first shell, the second shell having an outer wall extending between a bottom and a top of the second shell in a second substantially straight line, wherein the first and second substantially straight lines are substantially parallel.
29 . The bowl of claim 28 , wherein the outer wall of the second shell has a length between the top and the bottom of the second shell; and a diameter of an outer surface of the outer wall of the second shell is substantially equal to a diameter of an adjacent portion of an inner surface of the outer wall of the first shell over a substantial entirety of the length of the outer wall of the second shell.
30 . The bowl of claim 28 , wherein the outer wall of the second shell has a length between the top and the bottom of the second shell; and a spacing between an outer surface of the outer wall of the second shell and an inner surface of the outer wall of the first shell is substantially zero over a substantial entirety of the length of the outer wall of the second shell.
31 . The bowl of claim 28 , wherein the first and second substantially straight lines extend substantially in the same direction.
32 . The bowl of claim 28 , wherein the bowl has a central axis that extends substantially in a vertical direction when the bowl is resting on a horizontal surface, the outer wall of the first shell is oriented at a first angle in relation to the central axis, the outer wall of the second shell is oriented at a second angle in relation to the central axis, and the first and second angles are substantially the same.
33 . The bowl of claim 32 , wherein the first and second angles are greater than zero and less than 90 degrees.
34 . The bowl of claim 28 , wherein an outer surface of the outer wall of the second shell has a first diameter at a location where the outer wall of the second shell adjoins the bottom of the second shell; an inner surface of the outer wall of the first shell has a second diameter at a location adjacent to the location where the outer wall of the second shell adjoins the bottom of the second shell; and the first and second diameters are substantially equal.
35 . The bowl of claim 28 , wherein the second shell has a depth equal to a vertical distance between the top and bottom of the second shell when the bowl is resting on a substantially horizontal surface; the first shell has a minimum depth equal to a vertical distance between the top of the first shell and a highest point on the bottom of the first shell when the bowl is resting on the substantially horizontal surface; and the depth of the second shell is substantially the same as the minimum depth of the first shell.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
