Information processing apparatus and information processing method

Abstract

An information processing apparatus includes an area display unit configured to display a metadata area including metadata values arrayed for each metadata item and unique areas defined for respective metadata values, an icon display unit configured to display an icon associated with main body data and enabling a user to add the metadata, and an adding unit operable if the displayed icon is moved to a position on the metadata area and configured to add information defining a unique area to which the position of the moved icon belongs, as metadata, to main body data associated with the icon.

1 . An information processing apparatus comprising:
 a processor; and   a memory coupled to the processor storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to perform operations comprising:   a displaying an object indicating data to which metadata is able to be added and an array constructed to include a metadata area on a display screen;   receiving an operation for moving the object on the display screen; and   adding, in a case where a position of the object having been moved by the operation is within the metadata area included in the array, metadata associated with the metadata area to data indicated by the object,   wherein in the array, a plurality of metadata areas arranged in a one-dimensional direction corresponds to a plurality of metadata values of a metadata item, respectively.   
     
     
         2 . The information processing apparatus according to  claim 1 , wherein the metadata area is displayed as at least any of lines and a crossing point of the lines which constitute the array. 
     
     
         3 . A method for an information processing apparatus, comprising:
 displaying an object indicating data to which metadata is able to be added and an array constructed to include an metadata area on a display screen;   receiving an operation for moving the object on the display screen; and   adding, in a case where a position of the object having been moved by the operation is within the metadata area included in the array, metadata associated with the metadata area to data indicated by the object,   wherein in the array, a plurality of metadata areas arranged in a one-dimensional direction corresponds to a plurality of metadata values of a metadata item, respectively.   
     
     
         4 . A computer-readable non-transitory storage medium storing a program causing a computer to execute the method according to  claim 3 .
