Treatment for discoid lupus

Abstract

Compounds I and II as well as salts and pharmaceutical compositions containing them are useful for treating diseases and/or disorders of the skin, such as cutaneous lupus, for example acute cutaneous lupus erythematosus, subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus, or discoid lupus erythematosus. In certain embodiments, the compounds are provided in topical compositions.

We claim: 
     
         1 . A pharmaceutical formulation comprising compound I and/or compound II, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt form thereof, wherein the formulation is a topical dosage form. 
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
       
     
     
         2 . The pharmaceutical formulation of  claim 1 , wherein the topical dosage form comprises a solution, a gel, an ointment, a cream or a suspension. 
     
     
         3 . The pharmaceutical formulation of  claim 1 , wherein the topical dosage form comprises an adherent topical applicator. 
     
     
         4 . The pharmaceutical formulation of  claim 1 , wherein the topical dosage form comprises the compound of formula I, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt form thereof. 
     
     
         5 . A kit comprising a pharmaceutical formulation comprising compound I and/or compound II, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt form thereof, in a topical dosage form for administration of the topical dosage form to the skin. 
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
       
     
     
         6 . The kit of  claim 5 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises the compound of formula I, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt form thereof. 
     
     
         7 . The kit of  claim 5 , wherein the kit comprises the topical dosage from in a solution, a gel, an ointment, a cream or a suspension 
     
     
         8 . The kit of  claim 5 , wherein the topical dosage form comprises an adherent topical applicator.
