Personalized Keepsake

Abstract

A personalized keepsake is constructed to resemble a flowering plant having petals or leaves upon which personal messages or other indicia are printed or inscribed. When the keepsake is assembled the messages or indicia are displayed. Messages and indicia gathered before construction of the keepsake are assembled prior to the giving of the keepsake. In one version, a series of simulated plant stems are formed in various shapes and sizes, to which simulated flower assemblies are attached. Each stem has a specifically-configured peg which fits into a similarly-shaped socket formed on a mount attached to a base-supported holder. A method for creating and assembling the keepsake is also described.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A keepsake in the form of a simulated plant, said keepsake comprising:
 a holder,   said holder having a plurality of mounting sockets formed thereon,   each said mounting socket shaped and dimensioned in one of at least two different socket designs;   at least one simulated plant part,   said at least one plant part having a surface formed to accept indicia in the form of graphic elements and text;   said plant part comprising a base member,   means formed on said base member to receive said simulated plant part;   means formed on said base member to attach said base member to a support member;   a top member,   said top member adapted to engage said base member to secure said simulated plant part therebetween;   at least one support member having first and second ends,   means formed at said first end to engage said support to said base member attachment means;   means formed at said second end for attaching to one of said holder mounting sockets.   
     
     
         2 . The apparatus as recited in  claim 1  further comprising a variety of said supports formed in selected shapes and lengths,
 all said supports having identical shapes and lengths having identically shaped socket attachment means whereby all such supports are insertable into an identically shaped socket; and 
 said sockets arranged on said holder to form a simulated floral array when said supports are inserted into said sockets. 
 
     
     
         3 . The apparatus as recited in  claim 1  further comprising a support base,
 means formed on said support base to support said holder whereby said holder is selectively removable from said base.
