Techniques to remotely access object events
Abstract
Techniques to remotely access object events are described. An apparatus may comprise a processor and a memory communicatively coupled to the processor. The memory may be operative to store a remote event bridge having a surrogate object that when executed by the processor is operative to allow an observer object for a first process to subscribe to an event of a subject object for a second process using the surrogate object. In this manner, the remote event bridge and the surrogate object operates as an interface between subject objects and observer objects without any modifications to either class of objects. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A computer-implemented method, comprising:
sending a subscription request from an observer object having an observer event handler to a subject object, the subscription request to subscribe to an object event of the subject object; receiving an event notification from the subject object via a remote event bridge, the event notification to indicate the object event has occurred; and responsive to receiving the event notification, sending a reply to the subject object having one or more observer event arguments.
2 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , comprising receiving the event notification via a call to the observer event handler from a surrogate object of the remote event bridge.
3 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , comprising executing a remote object proxy to facilitate remoting operations by operating as a bridge and integrating various message protocols.
4 . The computer-implemented method of claim 5 , comprising sending the subscription request to subscribe to the object event of the subject object via the remote object proxy.
5 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , comprising sending the subscription request to subscribe to the object event of the subject object anonymously during runtime using the remote event bridge.
6 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , comprising communicating data between the observer object and subject object without changing any structures or operations for the observer object or the subject object.
7 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , comprising:
receiving one or more subject event arguments from the subject object via the remote event bridge.
8 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , comprising sending the reply having one or more observer event arguments to the subject object via a replay object of the remote event bridge.
9 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , comprising sending the reply having one or more observer objects to the remote event bridge for mapping to one or more corresponding subject event arguments of the subject object to form mapped event arguments.
10 . An article of manufacture comprising a storage medium comprising instructions that when executed enable a system to:
send a subscription request from an observer object having an observer event handler to a subject object, the subscription request to subscribe to an object event of the subject object; receive an event notification from the subject object via a remote event bridge, the event notification to indicate the object event has occurred; and responsive to receiving the event notification, send a reply to the subject object having one or more observer event arguments.
11 . The article of claim 10 , further comprising instructions that when executed enable the system to receive the event notification via a call to the observer event handler from a surrogate object of the remote event bridge.
12 . The article of claim 10 , further comprising instructions that when executed enable the system to execute a remote object proxy to facilitate remoting operations by operating as a bridge and integrating various message protocols.
13 . The article of claim 12 , further comprising instructions that when executed enable the system to send the subscription request to subscribe to the object event of the subject object via the remote object proxy.
14 . An apparatus, comprising:
a processor; and a memory communicatively coupled to the processor, the memory to store instructions to enable the processor to: send a subscription request to a subject object, the subscription request to subscribe to an object event of the subject object; receive an event notification from the subject object via a remote event bridge, the event notification to indicate the object event has occurred; and responsive to receiving the event notification, send a reply to the subject object having one or more observer event arguments.
15 . The apparatus of claim 14 , the processor to receive the event notification via a call to an observer event handler of an observer object from a surrogate object of the remote event bridge, wherein the surrogate object and the remote event bridge are executed by a second processor.
16 . The apparatus of claim 14 , the processor to send the subscription request to subscribe to the object event of the subject object via a remote object proxy.
17 . The apparatus of claim 15 , the processor to receive one or more subject event arguments from the subject object via the remote event bridge.
18 . The apparatus of claim 15 , the processor to send the reply having one or more observer event arguments to the subject object via a replay object of the remote event bridge.
19 . The apparatus of claim 15 , the processor to send the reply having one or more observer objects to the remote event bridge for mapping to one or more corresponding subject event arguments of the subject object to form mapped event arguments.
20 . The apparatus of claim 15 , comprising a display communicatively coupled to the processor and memory.
21 . A computing device, comprising:
a remote object proxy; and a processor to execute a process involving an observer object and an observer event handler, the observer object being configured to:
send a subscription request to a subject object subscribing to an object event of the subject object,
receive an event notification from the subject object via a remote event bridge indicating the object event has occurred, and
responsive to receiving the event notification, send a reply to the subject object based on the received event notification having one or more observer event arguments.
22 . The computing device of claim 21 , the observer object to receive the event notification via a call to the observer event handler from a surrogate object of the remote event bridge, wherein the surrogate object and the remote event bridge are executed by a second processor.
23 . The computing device of claim 21 , the observer object to send the subscription request to subscribe to the object event of the subject object via the remote object proxy.
24 . The computing device of claim 22 , the observer object to receive one or more subject event arguments from the subject object via the remote event bridge.
25 . The computing device of claim 22 , the observer object to send the reply having one or more observer event arguments to the subject object via a replay object of the remote event bridge.
26 . The computing device of claim 22 , the observer object to send the reply having one or more observer objects to the remote event bridge for mapping to one or more corresponding subject event arguments of the subject object to form mapped event arguments.
27 . The computing device of claim 22 , wherein the processor and the second processor are in different devices.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
