Kiteboard handle

Abstract

A kiteboard handle that may be used on kiteboards, surfboards as well as other recreational water boards or similar equipment. In some embodiments, the kiteboard handle may include a line segment where a kiter may grasp the kiteboard handle and an attachment segment whereby the kiteboard handle attaches to a recreational water board. In other embodiments, the kiteboard handle may include a handle bar, a neck segment and a base. If a kiter becomes separated from his or her board, he or she may grasp the kiteboard handle so that the board does not get away from the kiter.

1 . A recreational water board handle comprising
 an attachment segment for attaching the recreational water board handle to a surfboard, kiteboard, or other recreational water board; and   a line segment, further comprised of
 a connector segment, located at a first end of the line segment, for connecting the line segment to the attachment segment, 
 a knot segment, located at a second end of the line segment, and 
 a grip segment, composed of one or more pieces of material, and located between the connector segment and the knot segment. 
   
     
     
         2 . The recreational water board handle of  claim 1  wherein the line segment is about 9 inches in length and the attachment segment is about 3 inches in length, such that the total length of the recreational water board handle is about 12 inches. 
     
     
         3 . The recreational water board handle of  claim 1  wherein the line segment is composed of polyester urethane. 
     
     
         4 . The recreational water board handle of  claim 1  wherein the one or more pieces of material of the grip segment are braided, weaved or twisted together. 
     
     
         5 . The recreational water board handle of  claim 1  wherein the grip segment is composed of at least pieces of material, a line with a diameter of ⅛ inch and a line with a diameter of ⅜ inch. 
     
     
         6 . The recreational water board handle of  claim 1  wherein the line segment is composed of a material that has a density such that the line segment floats in water. 
     
     
         7 . The recreational water board handle of  claim 1  wherein the line segment includes floatable components that may be either bobbers, foam parts or air-filled parts. 
     
     
         8 . The recreational water board handle of  claim 1  wherein the knot segment is formed from the same one or more pieces of material as the grip segment. 
     
     
         9 . The recreational water board handle of  claim 1  wherein the connector segment is formed from at least one of the same one or more pieces of material as the grip segment. 
     
     
         10 . The recreational water board handle of  claim 1  wherein the knot segment is adapted to prevent a person's hand that is gripping the grip segment from sliding off the end of the line segment. 
     
     
         11 . The recreational water board handle of  claim 1  wherein the connector segment is formed from some or all of the same one or more pieces of material as the grip segment. 
     
     
         12 . The recreational water board handle of  claim 1  wherein the attachment segment is composed of polyester urethane. 
     
     
         13 . The recreational water board handle of  claim 1  wherein the attachment segment is composed of a line with a diameter of ⅛ inch. 
     
     
         14 . The recreational water board handle of  claim 1  wherein the attachment segment is composed of plastic, wire, aircraft cable or other cable. 
     
     
         15 . The recreational water board handle of  claim 1  wherein at least the outer surface of the attachment segment is composed of a soft material adapted to not scratch or mar a recreational water board. 
     
     
         16 . The recreational water board handle of  claim 1  wherein at least the outer surface of the line segment is composed of a soft material adapted to not scratch or mar a recreational water board. 
     
     
         17 . A recreational water board handle comprising
 a base that includes a substantially flat bottom surface,
 whereby the bottom surface abuts a top surface of a surfboard, kiteboard, or other recreational water board; 
   a neck segment located adjacent to the base,
 whereby the neck segment includes a first end and a second end, and whereby the base tapers into the first end of the neck segment; and 
   a handle bar located at the second end of the neck segment and attached to the neck segment.   
     
     
         18 . The recreational water board handle of  claim 17  further comprising an adhesive portion that spans at least part of the bottom surface of the base of the recreational water board handle,
 whereby the adhesive portion is located between the base and the recreational water board, and 
 whereby the adhesive portion is adapted for attaching the recreational water board handle to a recreational water board. 
 
     
     
         19 . The recreational water board handle of  claim 17  whereby the base is formed as part of a kick pad of the recreational water board, such that the recreational water board handle and the kick pad constitute a single piece of the recreational water board. 
     
     
         20 . The recreational water board handle of  claim 19  further comprising a collar portion that is located between recreational water board handle and the rest of the kick pad, wherein the collar portion is thicker than the rest of the kick pad.
