Abstract
The instant invention describes various computer program products and methods of using the same in order to provide personalized nutritional advice to end users.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A method for providing nutritional information based on health conditions, the method comprising:
(a) identifying, via a computing device, a first list of items comprising a plurality of nutrients and food items comprising one or more of the nutrients; (b) identifying, via the computing device, a second list of problems comprising a plurality of health conditions; (c) determining, via the computing device, for each item in the first list of items a first factor for each of the plurality of health conditions in the second list of problems, the first factor indicates whether each item is good or bad for a corresponding health condition of the plurality of health conditions in the second list of problems; and (d) determining, via the computing device, for each pair of different items in the first list of items a second factor, the second factor indicates whether one item in the pair works against or enhances the effects of the other item in the pair.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein step (a) further comprises determining a numeric factor representing a level of presence of the nutrient in each of the plurality of food items.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of health conditions comprises one or more of an illness, physical activity, diet and a health goal.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein step (c) further comprises representing the first factor as a positive value for a good item, a negative value for a bad item and 0 for a neutral item.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein step (d) further comprises representing the second factor as a positive value for an item that enhances the effect of the other item in the pair, a negative value for an item that works against the effect of the other item in the pair, and 0 for an item that does not have an effect of the other item in the pair.
6 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising receiving, by the computing device, an inquiry identifying an individual's plurality of health conditions.
7 . The method of claim 6 , further comprising establishing, by the computing device, a composite score for a food item in relation to the individual's plurality of health conditions.
8 . The method of claim 6 , further comprising determining, by the computing device, whether a food item has a positive score or a negative score based on the individual's plurality of health conditions.
9 . A system for providing nutritional information based on health conditions, the system comprising:
a computing device configured to identify a first list of items comprising a plurality of nutrients and food items comprising one or more of the nutrients and a second list of problems comprising a plurality of health conditions; wherein the computing device is configured to determine for each item in the first list of items a first factor for each of the plurality of health conditions in the second list of problems, the first factor indicates whether each item is good or bad for a corresponding health condition of the plurality of health conditions in the second list of problems; and wherein the computing device is configured to determine for each pair of different items in the first list of items a second factor, the second factor indicates whether one item in the pair works against or enhances the effects of the other item in the pair.
10 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the computing device is further configured to determine a numeric factor representing a level of presence of the nutrient in each of the plurality of food items.
11 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the plurality of health conditions comprises one or more of an illness, physical activity, diet and a health goal.
12 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the computing device is further configured to represent the first factor as a positive value for a good item, a negative value for a bad item and 0 for a neutral item.
13 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the computing device is further configured to represent the second factor as a positive value for an item that enhances the effect of the other item in the pair, a negative value for an item that works against the effect of the other item in the pair, and 0 for an item that does not have an effect of the other item in the pair.
14 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the computing device is further configured to receive an inquiry identifying an individual's plurality of health conditions.
15 . The system of claim 14 , wherein the computing device is further configured to determine a composite score for a food item in relation to the individual's plurality of health conditions.
16 . The system of claim 14 , wherein the computing device is further configured to determine whether a food item has a positive score or a negative score based on the individual's plurality of health conditions.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
