Abstract

The invention comprises novel apparatuses and methods for positioning and/or for determining the locations of one structural member such as a stud, rafter or joist on another structural member such as a beam during construction.

         4 . An angular-positioning tool, comprising:
 a first “U”-shaped member having a first open end;   a second “U”-shaped member having a second open end;   said first and second open ends being orthogonal to each other and opening in the same direction.

An angular positioning tool in accordance with  claim 4  wherein at least a portion of one of the “U”-shaped members is wide enough members to extend between the surface of a construction worker's hand and the structural members being nailed and is of sufficient size and made of strong enough material to shield the hand from nails, whereby the angular positioning tool also serves as a safety device to avoid accidental hitting of a worker by nails.
