Abstract

An educational board game and methods of playing said educational game are disclosed in the present invention. The said educational board game comprises game boards; movement spaces embedded with words or phrases or obstacles or tasks; game pieces; and means of randomly generating a number. Words are Sight words selected from the Dolch Word List and phrases contains such words. Said game is played by up to five players by moving game pieces certain number of movement spaces. The number of spaces is determined by a randomly generated number. The players also face obstacles and tasks. The player first arriving at the end point space wins the game.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . An educational board game comprising:
 a. game boards with words, phrases, numbers, obstacles, or tasks embedded on movement spaces defining a play path with a start point spaces and an end point space;   b. game pieces; and   c. means of randomly generating a number.   
     
     
         2 . An educational board game of  claim 1 , wherein said words are Sight words selected from the 220 words on the Dolch Word List and the excluded nouns of a separate 95-word list. 
     
     
         3 . An educational board game of  claim 1 , wherein said words are Sight words selected from the 220 words on the Dolch Word List and the excluded nouns of a separate 95-word list with a single or a mixed difficulty level of one of the following: pre-primer, primer, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, and nouns. 
     
     
         4 . An educational board game of  claim 1 , wherein the phrases contains Sight words selected from the 220 words on the Dolch Word List and the excluded nouns of a separate 95-word list with a single or a mixed difficult level of one of the following: pre-primer, primer, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, and nouns. 
     
     
         5 . An educational board game of  claim 1 , wherein said obstacles include, but are not limited to, losing a turn, skipping to a word, going back to a word, going back one, two, three, four, five, six spaces. 
     
     
         6 . An educational board game of  claim 1 , wherein said tasks include, but are not limited to, using a word in a sentence, or using a phrase in a sentence. 
     
     
         7 . An educational board game of  claim 1 , wherein said game pieces are made to different colors, or to different shapes, or to different colors and shapes. 
     
     
         8 . An educational board game of  claim 1 , wherein said means of randomly generating a number are dices or other similar tools used in a board game. 
     
     
         9 . An educational board game of  claim 1 , wherein
 a. said words are Sight words selected from the 220 words on the Dolch Word List and the excluded nouns of a separate 95-word list with a single or a mixed difficulty level of one of the following: pre-primer, primer, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, and nouns;   b. said phrases contains Sight words selected from the 220 words on the Dolch Word List and the excluded nouns of a separate 95-word list with a single or a mixed difficult level of one of the following: pre-primer, primer, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, and nouns   c. said obstacles include, but are not limited to, losing a turn, skipping to a word, going back to a previous word, moving back one, two, three, four, five, six previous spaces;   d. said tasks include, but are not limited to, using a word in a sentence, or using a phrase in a sentence   e. said game pieces are made to different colors, or to different shapes, or to different colors and shapes;   f. said means of randomly generating a number are die or other similar tools used in a board game.   The number and content of said words, phrases, obstacles and tasks are randomly combined or selected in a fixed manner.   
     
     
         10 . Methods of playing said educational board game, comprising
 i. furnishing said educational board game set comprising:   a. game boards with words, phrases, numbers, obstacles, or tasks embedded on movement spaces defining a play path with a start point spaces and an end point space;   b. game pieces; and   c. means of randomly generating a number;   ii. assigning a game piece to or selecting a game piece by each player;   iii. determining the order of players in the said game;   iv. generating a random number by the first player using means of randomly generating a number, then moving first player's game piece that number of spaces down the play path. If the game piece stops at a movement space embedded with an obstacle or a task, the player must follow the command of the obstacle or fulfill the task. The other players in turn play said game in the same way; and   v. the player first arriving at the end point space wins the game.   
     
     
         11 . Methods of playing said educational board game of  claim 10 , wherein said words are sight words selected from the 220 sight words on Dolch Word List and the excluded nouns of a separate 95-word list.

Methods of playing said educational board game of  claim 10 , wherein said words are Sight words selected from the 220 words on the Dolch Word List and the excluded nouns of a separate 95-word list with a single or a mixed difficult level of one of the following: pre-primer, primer, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, and nouns.

Methods of playing said educational board game of  claim 10 , wherein the phrases contains Sight words selected from the 220 words on the Dolch Word List and the excluded nouns of a separate 95-word list with a single or a mixed difficult level of one of the following: pre-primer, primer, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, and nouns.
