Abstract
An automatic end-of-train detection system that can inform the train driver and the operations control center that the length of the train is safe and secure, without human intervention is provided. The system comprises a first module installed on the final railcar of the train comprising a transmitter that is activated when the condition indicating the pass-through movement of the last railcar is present and that continues to transmit while the pass-through movement condition remains present; and a second module installed on at least one fixed station placed close to the track, comprising a receiver that receives the signal transmitted by the transmitter of the first module and sends a message indicating the pass-through movement of the final railcar to the railway train driver.

exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A system for detecting the end of a railway train with a final railcar, the railway train traveling along a track of a rail network, comprising:
a first module installed on the last railcar and comprising a transmitter that is activated when the condition indicating the pass-through movement of the last railcar is present and that continues to transmit as long as the condition persists; and a second module installed on at least one fixed station placed close to the track and comprising a receiver that receives the signal transmitted by the transmitter of the first module and sends a message indicating the pass-through movement of the final railcar to the railway train driver.
2 . The system according to claim 1 , wherein the second module also sends a message indicating the pass-through movement of the final railcar to a remote facility of the railway train.

The system according to claim 1 , wherein the railway train has a braking system with a piping general, and the first module comprises the pressure transducer that activates the transmitter when the pressure in the general piping is equal to or greater than a pre-defined pressure of the braking system.
4 . The system according to claim 3 , wherein the first module comprises a compact box holding the transmitter, the pressure transducer and an independent power source.
5 . The system according to claim 4 , wherein the power source is a battery and the transmitter is a digital radio.
6 . The system according to claim 3 , wherein the compact box measures 40×40 mm and the first module weighs some 30 g.
7 . The system according to claim 3 , wherein the first module is affixed to the general piping through an F type nozzle connector, being attached to the railcar by a chain and tetra-key padlock for better asset security.
8 . The system according to claim 1 , wherein the module comprises a digital radio installed on a compact box.
9 . The system according to claim 8 , wherein the compact box measures 50×40 mm and the second module weighs some 30 g.
