Abstract

Method System & Apparatus that captures and releases snow. A snow mattress configured to be rolled concentrically having a snow receiving surface arranged on a side and a cooling device arranged within the snow mattress that transfers cool to the snow receiving surface with sufficient coolness to prevent snow from melting. Snow receiving portions are formed on or in the snow receiving surface, the snow receiving portions configured in a concave form to capture snow therein. Extended portions are adjacent the snow receiving portions, the extended portions are arranged to extend distally from a surface of the snow receiving surface. The extended portions and snow receiving portions configured such that when the snow mattress is rolled, the extended portions are deformed and engage an adjacent extended portion, thereby forming a closed area with the snow receiving portion and snow therein, and are configured such that when engaged with the adjacent extended portion the extended portions maintain the closed area without compressing the closed area in the snow receiving portion more than 50%. The snow receiving surface forming the closed area configured to freely release snow when the snow mattress is unrolled.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
. An apparatus that captures and releases snow, the apparatus comprising:
a snow mattress configured to be rolled concentrically; a snow receiving surface arranged on a side; a cooling device arranged within the snow mattress that transfers cool to the snow receiving surface with sufficient coolness to prevent snow from melting; snow receiving portions formed on or in the snow receiving surface, the snow receiving portions configured in a concave form to capture snow therein; extended portions that are adjacent the snow receiving portions, the extended portions are arranged to extend distally from a surface of the snow receiving surface: the extended portions and snow receiving portions configured such that when the snow mattress is rolled, the extended portions are deformed and engage an adjacent extended portion, thereby forming a closed area with the snow receiving portion and snow therein; the extended portions are configured such that when engaged with the adjacent extended portion the extended portions maintain the closed area without compressing the closed area in the snow receiving portion more than 50%; and the snow receiving surface forming the closed area configured to freely release snow when the snow mattress is unrolled.

. The apparatus of claim 1 , where the extended portions are configured such that when engaged with the adjacent extended portion the extended portions maintain the closed area without compressing the closed area in the snow receiving portion more than 10%.

. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the extended portions have an Edge and a flat or concave portion, wherein the Edge is arranged to meet the flat or concave portion of another extended portion when the snow mattress is rolled.

. The apparatus of claim 3 , wherein the flat or concave portion is arranged as a U shaped portion, such that when the Edge meets the U shaped portion the Two are arranged to interlock.

. The apparatus of claim 3 , wherein the extended portions have a profile in the shape of rectangle, with one edge of the rectangle forming the Edge.

. The apparatus of claim 3 , wherein the extended portions have a profile in the shape of a trapezoid, with one edge of the trapezoid forming the Edge.

. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the snow receiving portions are concave cup shaped.

. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the snow mattress further comprises wedged shaped openings on the opposite surface of the snow receiving surface such that the wedged shaped openings provide a hinge in the snow mattress between the extended portions and the now receiving portions.

. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the extended portions are configured to be retractable.

. The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising extended portions arranged on an opposite side of the snow mattress than the receiving surface.

. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the cooling device further includes channels arranged inside the extended portions that carry cooling material.

. The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising a controller for controlling the environment inside the closed areas.

. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the closed areas are configured to have 10 cm wide openings.

. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the snow mattress holds 10 cubic liters of snow.

. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the snow mattress has an area equivalent to between 10 by 10 meters and 5 by 5 meters.

. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the snow mattress is segmented, with each segment formed by at least one receiving portion and at least one extended portion.

. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the extended portions are at least 10 cm long.

. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the snow mattress is filled with a gas lighter than air.

. The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising a roll bar coupled to the snow mattress for rolling the snow mattress.

. The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising a gear for engaging portions of the snow mattress and rolling the snow mattress.
