Patterning Technique

Abstract

A roll good comprises a motif that is repeated along the length and width thereof. Each occurrence of the motif comprises a design module repeated to form a unitary array of contiguous design modules, with the design modules having various orientations with respect to one another in fixed positions within the unitary array of design modules.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A substantially continuous roll good having a length and a width, the substantially continuous roll good comprising:
 a motif repeated along the length and width of the roll good so that the roll good comprises a plurality of occurrences of the motif,   wherein the plurality of occurrences of the motif each comprise a design module repeated to form a unitary array of substantially identical design modules with adjacent design modules of the unitary array of design modules being contiguous with one another, and   wherein the design modules of the unitary array of design modules have various orientations with respect to one another in fixed positions within the unitary array of design modules so that a first design module of the unitary array of design modules has a first orientation and a second design module of the unitary array of design modules has a second orientation, wherein the design module having the first orientation is visually distinct from the design module having the second orientation.
