Abstract

A method of making a polymeric laminated wafer comprising different film materials that are softenable and formable at different softening temperatures corresponding with the film materials.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . An optical film laminate wafer having a curved form and comprising at least two film layers having different softening temperatures.

2 . The optical film laminate wafer of claim 1 wherein the curved form is a base curve.

3 . The optical film laminate wafer of claim 1 further comprising an optically functional layer.

4 . The optical film laminate wafer of claim 1 further comprising a polarizing layer.

5 . The optical film functional laminate wafer of claim 1 wherein one of the at least two film layers is a protective layer.

6 . The optical film functional laminate wafer of claim 1 wherein one of the at least two film layers is polycarbonate.

7 . The optical film functional laminate wafer of claim 1 wherein one of the at least two film layers is a base layer.

8 . The optical film functional laminate wafer of claim 1 wherein one of the at least two film layers is cellulose acetate butyrate.

9 . The optical film functional laminate wafer of claim 5 further comprising a coating.

10 . An ophthalmic lens comprising:
a protective film layer having a first glass transition temperature; a base film layer having a second, different glass transition temperature; a functional layer interposed between the protective film layer and the base film layer; and a lens material fused to the base film layer.

11 . The ophthalmic lens of claim 10 wherein the protective film layer comprises cellulose resin.

12 . The ophthalmic lens of claim 10 wherein the base film layer comprises a polycarbonate.

13 . The ophthalmic lens of claim 10 wherein the functional layer comprises a layer selected from a group of layer consisting of: a photochromic layer, a polarizing layer, and a combination thereof.

14 . The ophthalmic lens of claim 10 further comprising a coating.

15 . An optical film laminate comprising:
a first film layer having a first glass transition temperature; a second film layer having a second, different glass transition temperature; and a functional layer interposed between the first film layer and the second film layer.

16 . The optical film laminate of claim 15 wherein the protective film layer comprises cellulose resin.

17 . The optical film laminate of claim 15 wherein the base film layer comprises a polycarbonate.

18 . The optical film laminate of claim 15 wherein the functional layer comprises a photochromic layer.

19 . The optical film laminate of claim 15 wherein the functional layer comprises a polarizing layer.

20 . The optical film laminate of claim 15 further comprising a coating.
