Abstract

An embodiment of the invention has been made to solve a problem that it is impossible to store externally transmitted job information if a printer apparatus is in a hard-off state and it is, therefore, necessary to store the job information in an external apparatus on the transmission side. In the embodiment, a wireless communication unit which can transmit/receive data even if no power is supplied receives job information from an external terminal, and stores it in a non-volatile memory. When an information processing apparatus is supplied with power, and enters a normal activation state, it executes the job stored in the non-volatile memory.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A processing apparatus comprising:
a communication unit configured to communicate with a communication device to receive an instruction for causing the apparatus to execute a predetermined process from the communication device, wherein even though power is not supplied from a power supply, the communication unit is able to receive data from the communication device and store the data into a memory; a storage unit configured to store the instruction received by the communication unit into the memory; and an execution unit configured to, in a case where power has not been supplied from the power supply, and the instruction has been stored into the memory by the storage unit, when power is supplied to the apparatus from the power supply, execute the predetermined process based on the instruction.

2 . The apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the apparatus has a plurality of functions,
the storage unit is further configured to, in a case where power is supplied to the apparatus from the power supply, and part of the plurality of functions is activated, store the instruction into the memory, and the execution unit is further configured to, in a case where power is supplied to the apparatus from the power supply, part of the plurality of functions is activated, the instruction is stored by the storage unit into the memory, when the plurality of functions are activated, execute the predetermined process.

3 . The apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the storage unit is further configured to store a second instruction for causing the apparatus to execute a process out of plural types of executable processes by the apparatus, and
the execution unit is further configured to execute the process corresponding to the second instruction, as the predetermined process.

4 . The apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising a confirmation unit configured to confirm whether the instruction is stored into the memory when power is supplied from the power supply,
wherein the execution unit is further configured to execute the predetermined process corresponding to the instruction when it is confirmed that the instruction is stored.

5 . The apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the power supply is either an AC power supply or battery.

6 . The apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the communication unit is further configured to communicate with the communication device, using NFC communication.

7 . The apparatus according to claim 6 , wherein the storage unit is configured to store the instruction into the memory, using power generated by electromagnetic induction, in a case where an NFC unit in the communication unit is in passive mode, and the communication unit serves as a target.

8 . A communication method applied to a processing apparatus including a communication unit comprising:
communicating with a communication device to receive an instruction for causing the apparatus to execute a predetermined process from the communication device, wherein even though power is not supplied from a power supply to the apparatus, the communication unit is able to receive data from the communication device and store the data into a memory; storing the received instruction into the memory; and in a case where power has not been supplied from the power supply to the apparatus, and the instruction has been stored into the memory, when power is supplied to the apparatus from the power supply, executing the predetermined process based on the instruction.

9 . The communication method according to claim 8 , wherein the apparatus has a plurality of functions,
in a case where power is supplied to the apparatus from the power supply, and part of the plurality of functions is activated, the instruction is stored into the memory, and when the plurality of functions are activated, the predetermined process is executed.

10 . The communication according to claim 8 , further comprising storing a second instruction for causing the apparatus to execute a process out of plural types of executable processes by the apparatus, and
executing the process corresponding to the second instruction, as the predetermined process.

11 . The communication method according to claim 8 , further comprising confirming whether or not the instruction is stored into the memory when power is supplied from the power supply, wherein
when it is confirmed that the instruction is stored, wherein the predetermined process corresponding to the instruction is executed.

12 . The communication method according to claim 8 , wherein the power supply is either an AC power supply or battery.

13 . The communication method according to claim 8 , wherein NFC communication is used in the communication with the communication device.

14 . The communication according to claim 13 , wherein the instruction is stored into the memory using power generated by electromagnetic induction, in a case where an NFC unit in the communication unit is in passive mode, and the communication unit serves as a target.

15 . A non-transitory computer readable storage which stores a computer program to be executed in a processing apparatus including a communication unit, the program, comprising:
communicating with a communication device to receive an instruction for causing the apparatus to execute a predetermined process from the communication device, wherein even though power is not supplied from a power supply to the apparatus, the communication unit is able to receive data from the communication device and store the data into a memory; storing the received instruction into the memory; and in a case where power has not been supplied from the power supply to the apparatus, and the instruction has been stored into the memory, when power is supplied to the apparatus from the power supply, executing the predetermined process based on the instruction.
