Abstract

The present invention relates to a slat wall formed as a three dimensional body with a predetermined height, width and thickness. The slat wall of the invention comprises a core, presenting a first and a second: face and at least one groove extending inwardly from the first face of the core and having a length extending in the direction of the width of the slat wall. An insert comprising et least one wail which defines a cavity, is arrange in said groove, and at least: one covering layer covers the first lace of the core and a part of the groove. The slat wail further comprises a slit miming through the covering layer and through the wail of the; insert, which slit has an extension in the direction of the width of the slat wall. The slat wall of the invention is easy to handle and simple to manufacture. The design of the slat wail enables the manufacturing of a receiving groove with a T-shaped profile without the need to mill out such a profile in the core. In this way, use of all kinds of materials, such as light-weight boards are made possible.

1 . A slat wall formed as a three dimensional body with a predetermined height, width and thickness, presenting a front side and a rear side, said slat wall comprising;
 a core, presenting a first and a second face ( 3 ′,  3 ″) and at least one groove extending inwardly from the first face of the core, said core comprising cellulose fibers and being formed of corrugated and stacked sheets that form channels;   an insert comprising at least one wall defining a cavity, which insert is arranged in said groove;   at least one covering layer covering the first face of the core and a part of the groove;   a slit running through the covering layer and through the wall of the insert.   
     
     
         2 . A slat wall according to  claim 1 , wherein the groove and the slit have lengths extending in the direction of the width of the slat wall and wherein the length of the slit is shorter than the width of the slat wall. 
     
     
         3 . A slat wall according to  claim 1 , wherein the groove and the slit have lengths extending in the direction of the height of the slat wall and wherein the length of the slit is shorter than the height of the slat wall. 
     
     
         4 . A slat wall according to  claim 1 , wherein each of the channels has a longitudinal axis intersecting the first face ( 3 ′) at an angle which is less than 90 degrees. 
     
     
         5 . A slat wall according to  claim 1 , wherein the at least one covering layer is made of medium or hard density fiber board. 
     
     
         6 . A slat wall according to  claim 1  wherein the slat wall comprises an additional, second covering layer, laminated onto the at least one covering layer, which second layer is a printable film. 
     
     
         7 . A method for manufacturing a slat wall comprising the steps of;
 providing a core presenting a first and a second face ( 3 ′,  3 ″),   forming at least one groove extending inwardly from the first face of the core,   inserting an insert, comprising at least one wall defining a cavity, into said groove,   laminating at least one covering layer onto the first face of the core   forming at least one slit through the covering layer and through the wall of the insert so that said cavity is accessible.   
     
     
         8 . A slat wall manufactured by the method of  claim 7 .
