Baby swaddle

Abstract

A baby swaddle includes a body having a first layer and a second layer which are attached along one or both side edges to form the body. The body has a top opening and a bottom opening and a pouch at a bottom of the body. A top edge includes at least one closure mechanism, such as a press stud, for adjusting a neck hole between a closed configuration and an open configuration. The pouch can be formed from a third layer attached to at least part of the first and/or second layer or by upwardly folding the second layer where the second layer is longer than the first layer. The body is made of a stretchable, material having breathable and antibacterial properties, such as soft bamboo material or merino wool.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A swaddle comprising:
 a body having a first layer and a second layer which are attached along at least one side edge to form the body, the body having a top opening and a bottom opening; and   a pouch at a bottom of the body;   wherein a top edge comprises at least one closure mechanism for adjusting a neck hole between a closed configuration and an open configuration.   
     
     
         2 . The swaddle of  claim 1 , wherein the pouch is formed from a third layer attached to at least part of the first and/or second layer. 
     
     
         3 . The swaddle of  claim 1 , wherein the second layer is longer than the first layer and the pouch is formed by upwardly folding the second layer. 
     
     
         4 . The swaddle of  claim 1 , wherein the first layer and the second layer are attached along two side edges. 
     
     
         5 . The swaddle of  claim 1 , wherein at least part of the side edges forms an hourglass profile. 
     
     
         6 . The swaddle of  claim 1 , further comprising a cover or flap attached to, or extending from, the top edge to cover the closure mechanism. 
     
     
         7 . The swaddle of  claim 1 , wherein the at least one closure mechanism provided on the top edge is a press stud. 
     
     
         8 . The swaddle of  claim 1 , wherein the body is made of a stretchable material. 
     
     
         9 . The swaddle of  claim 1 , wherein the body is made at least partially of at least one of the following materials: soft bamboo; wool; merino wool. 
     
     
         10 . The swaddle of  claim 1 , wherein the material of the body has one or more of the following properties: breathable; antibacterial; suitable for hot weather.
