Abstract

A mobile service reception method and a mobile service receiver are provided. The mobile service reception method includes performing a channel scan operation comprising searching in one or more frequencies for a broadcast signal which includes mobile data for providing a mobile service and generating a list of a plurality of mobile services, selecting at least one mobile service from the list, and processing mobile data for the selected at least one mobile service by obtaining at least one parade through which the selected at least one mobile service is transmitted, wherein a parade forms one Reed Solomon (RS) frame or two RS frames.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A broadcast service reception method comprising:
 receiving a control signal for channel scan in one or more frequencies;   performing, according to the received control signal, a channel scan operation searching for a broadcast signal in which main data for providing a main service and mobile data for providing a mobile service are multiplexed;   generating a service list of a plurality of mobile services based on the searched broadcast signal;   receiving a service selection signal selecting at least one mobile service from among the plurality of mobile services included in the service list; and   providing, according to the service selection signal, the selected at least one mobile service by obtaining at least one parade through which the at least one mobile service is transmitted.   
     
     
         2 . The mobile service reception method of  claim 1 , wherein the performing a channel scan comprises storing signaling information including service configuration information of each service in forms of service signaling tables, wherein each service signaling table is divided into a plurality of sections. 
     
     
         3 . The mobile service reception method of  claim 2 , wherein the performing a channel scan further comprises:
 setting an RF tuner frequency at which channel scan to be performed;   extracting a stream associated with a mobile service corresponding to the RF tuner frequency;   receiving a transmission parameter channel (TPC) segment or a fast information channel (FIC) segment; and   generating a service list information according to a scan mode.   
     
     
         4 . The mobile service reception method of  claim 3 , wherein the scan mode is classified according to a type of a service signaling table used in generation of the service list information. 
     
     
         5 . The mobile service reception method of  claim 1 , wherein the service list comprises at least one of a service identifier, a service name and a service category. 
     
     
         6 . The mobile service reception method of  claim 5 , wherein the service list further comprises at least one of a route of service, rating information and region information. 
     
     
         7 . The mobile service reception method of  claim 1 , when the service selection signal is for selecting a broadcasting service from among the plurality of mobile services, the providing at least one mobile service comprises:
 obtaining a service identifier, frequency information, an ensemble identifier and a parade identifier corresponding to selected broadcasting service;   receiving TPC data using the obtained parade identifier;   generating a parade by gathering data of slots and an RS frame using the parade;   identifying and receiving desired RS frame using the ensemble identifier;   extracting network packets by processing the generated RS frame;   obtaining Service Map Table (SMT) data from the extracted network packets;   setting a decoder according to the SMT data;   receiving component streams corresponding to the selected broadcasting service; and   outputting combination of received component streams.   
     
     
         8 . The mobile service reception method of  claim 1 , when the service selection signal is for selecting a service guide from among the plurality of mobile services, the providing at least one mobile service comprises:
 obtaining a service identifier, frequency information and an ensemble identifier corresponding to selected service guide;   accessing an ensemble including the selected service guide;   obtaining Service Map Table (SMT) data from the accessed ensemble;   receiving IP packets corresponding to the selected service guide;   generating a service guide by using fragments for the selected service guide; and   outputting the generated service guide.   
     
     
         9 . The mobile service reception method of  claim 8 , when an additional service selection signal for selecting a broadcasting service from the generated service guide is received, the providing at least one mobile service further comprises:
 obtaining a service identifier, frequency information, an ensemble identifier and a parade identifier corresponding to selected broadcasting service;   receiving TPC data using the obtained parade identifier;   generating a parade by gathering data of slots and an RS frame using the parade;   identifying and receiving desired RS frame using the ensemble identifier;   extracting network packets by processing the generated RS frame;   obtaining Service Map Table (SMT) data from the extracted network packets;   setting a decoder according to the SMT data;   receiving component streams corresponding to the selected broadcasting service; and   outputting combination of received component streams.   
     
     
         10 . A broadcast service receiver comprising:
 a control signal reception unit which receives a control signal for channel scan in one or more frequencies;   a channel scan unit which, according to the received control signal, searches for a broadcast signal in which main data for providing a mobile service and mobile data for providing a mobile service are multiplexed;   a service list generation unit which generates a service list of a plurality of mobile services based on the searched broadcast signal;   a service selection signal reception unit which receives a service selection signal selecting at least one mobile service from among the plurality of mobile services included in the service list; and   a processor which, according to the service selection signal, provides at least one mobile service by obtaining at least one parade through which the at least one mobile service is transmitted.   
     
     
         11 . The mobile service receiver of  claim 10 , the channel scan unit stores signaling information including service configuration information of each service in forms of service signaling tables divided into a plurality of sections. 
     
     
         12 . The mobile service receiver of  claim 11 , the channel scan unit performs:
 setting an RF tuner frequency at which channel scan to be performed;   extracting a stream associated with a mobile service corresponding to the RF tuner frequency;   receiving a transmission parameter channel (TPC) segment or a fast information channel (FIC) segment; and   generating a service list information according to a scan mode.   
     
     
         13 . The mobile service receiver of  claim 12 , wherein the scan mode is classified according to a type of a service signaling table used in generation of the service list information. 
     
     
         14 . The mobile service receiver of  claim 10 , wherein the service list comprises at least one of a service identifier, a service name and a service category. 
     
     
         15 . The mobile service receiver of  claim 14 , wherein the service list further comprises at least one of a route of service, rating information and region information. 
     
     
         16 . The mobile service receiver of  claim 10 , when the service selection signal is for selecting a broadcasting service from among the plurality of mobile services, the processor performs:
 obtaining a service identifier, frequency information, an ensemble identifier and a parade identifier corresponding to selected broadcasting service;   receiving TPC data using the obtained parade identifier;   generating a parade by gathering data of slots and an RS frame using the parade;   identifying and receiving desired RS frame using the ensemble identifier;   extracting network packets by processing the generated RS frame;   obtaining Service Map Table (SMT) data from the extracted network packets;   setting a decoder according to the SMT data;   receiving component streams corresponding to the selected broadcasting service; and   outputting combination of received component streams.   
     
     
         17 . The mobile service receiver of  claim 10 , when the service selection signal is for selecting a service guide from among the plurality of mobile services, the processor performs:
 obtaining a service identifier, frequency information and an ensemble identifier corresponding to selected service guide;   accessing an ensemble including the selected service guide;   obtaining Service Map Table (SMT) data from the accessed ensemble;   receiving IP packets corresponding to the selected service guide;   generating a service guide by using fragments for the selected service guide; and   outputting the generated service guide.   
     
     
         18 . The mobile service receiver of  claim 17 , when an additional service selection signal for selecting a broadcasting service from the generated service guide is received, the processor further performs:
 obtaining a service identifier, frequency information, an ensemble identifier and a parade identifier corresponding to selected broadcasting service;   receiving TPC data using the obtained parade identifier;   generating a parade by gathering data of slots and an RS frame using the parade;   identifying and receiving desired RS frame using the ensemble identifier;   extracting network packets by processing the generated RS frame;   obtaining Service Map Table (SMT) data from the extracted network packets;   setting a decoder according to the SMT data;   receiving component streams corresponding to the selected broadcasting service; and   outputting combination of received component streams.   
     
     
         19 . A non-transitory computer-readable recording medium having recorded thereon a program for executing the mobile service reception method of  claim 1 .
