System and method for facilitating co-channel and co-existence via enhanced frame preambles
Abstract
Methods and apparatus are described to facilitate co-channel co-existence in a wireless communication environment. First information and second information related to a shared channel may be transmitted. The first information may be transmitted across a plurality of subcarriers over a first symbol set of a subframe and the second information may be transmitted within a subset of the plurality of subcarriers over a second symbol set of the subframe. The second information may include channel-sharing information regarding the wireless communication environment. The channel-sharing information may reduce intercell interference with at least one other base station.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A base station comprising:
a transceiver configured to transmit and receive wireless communication signals in a wireless communication environment; and one or more processors configured to:
transmit, via the transceiver, a first information relating to a shared channel in the wireless communication environment, the first information being transmitted across a plurality of subcarriers over a first symbol set of a subframe; and
transmit, via the transceiver, a second information relating to the shared channel, the second information being transmitted entirely within a contiguous subset of the plurality of subcarriers over a second symbol set of the subframe,
wherein the second symbol set immediately follows the first symbol set in the subframe.
2 . The base station of claim 1 , wherein the second information indicates a specific sharing scheme for coordinated sharing of the shared channel by the base station to reduce intercell interference with at least one other base station.
3 . The base station of claim 1 , wherein the first information is legacy information and the second information is non-legacy information.
4 . The base station of claim 1 , wherein the contiguous subset of the plurality of subcarriers over the second symbol set in the subframe is different than a contiguous subset of the plurality of subcarriers transmitted by another base station.
5 . The base station of claim 1 , wherein the first symbol set in the subframe begins at a first symbol in time in the subframe.
6 . The base station of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of subcarriers comprises all subcarriers of the first symbol set in the subframe.
7 . A base station comprising:
a transceiver configured to transmit a subframe; and one or more processors configured to:
transmit, via the transceiver, first information relating to a shared channel in a first region of the subframe that is a first symbol set in duration and that includes all subcarriers of the first region, and
transmit, via the transceiver, second information relating to a shared channel in a second region of the subframe that is a second symbol set in duration and that includes only a subset of all subcarriers of the first region,
wherein the first region and the second region do not overlap, and wherein the subframe further includes data symbols.
8 . The base station of claim 7 , wherein the second information indicates a specific sharing scheme for coordinated sharing of the shared channel by the base station to reduce intercell interference with at least one other base station.
9 . The base station of claim 7 , wherein the first region is a legacy region and the second region is a non-legacy region.
10 . The base station of claim 7 , wherein the second region that includes only a subset of all subcarriers of the first region is different than a second region transmitted by another base station that includes a different subset of subcarriers.
11 . The base station of claim 7 , wherein the first symbol set begins in a first symbol in time in the subframe.
12 . A subscriber station comprising:
a transceiver configured to receive a subframe from a base station; and one or more processors configured to:
receive a first information relating to a shared channel in a first region of the subframe, the first region of the subframe being a first symbol set in duration and including all subcarriers of the first symbol set,
receive a second information relating to a shared channel in a second region of the subframe, the second region of the subframe being a second symbol set in duration and including only a subset of the all subcarriers of the first symbol set, and
receive data in a third region of the subframe which is separate from the first region and the second region of the subframe,
wherein the first region and the second region are not overlapping.
13 . The subscriber station of claim 12 , wherein the second information indicates a specific sharing scheme for coordinated sharing of the shared channel by the base station to reduce intercell interference with at least one other base station.
14 . The subscriber station of claim 12 , wherein the first region is a legacy region and the second region is a non-legacy region.
15 . The subscriber station of claim 12 , wherein the first symbol set begins in a first symbol in time in the subframe.
16 . A method for use in a base station, the method comprising:
transmitting, to at least one subscriber station, first information relating to a shared channel, the first information being transmitted across a plurality of subcarriers over a first symbol set of a subframe; and transmitting, to the at least one subscriber station, second information relating to the shared channel across only a contiguous subset of the plurality of subcarriers and over a second symbol set of the subframe.
17 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the second information indicates a specific sharing scheme for coordinated sharing of the shared channel by the base station to reduce intercell interference with at least one other base station.
18 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the first information is legacy information and the second information is non-legacy information.
19 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the contiguous subset of the plurality of subcarriers over the second symbol set is different than a contiguous subset of the plurality of subcarriers transmitted by another base station.
20 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the first symbol set in the subframe begins in a first symbol in time in the subframe.
21 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the plurality of subcarriers comprises all subcarriers over the first symbol set in the subframe.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
