What is claimed is:

. A roll and utility item clamshell dispenser, comprising:
first and second opposed clamshell halves pivoted together at a flexible hinge, each half having a contact edge mating with a like contact edge of an opposed half to form at least a first and a second contained space therein, wherein the first contained space is adapted to store and dispense material from a roll, and wherein the second contained space is adapted to store utility items; a die-cut cover for the second contained space, wherein the cover is disposed in the first clamshell half opposite the second contained space in the second clamshell half, and wherein the cover opens to reveal the second contained space without having to open the clamshell dispenser; an edge formed when the flanges from the clamshell halves are brought into proximity to one another, wherein the edge comprises at least one tearing surface formed by at least one of the flanges; and a dispensing channel formed when the flanges from the clamshell halves are brought into proximity to one another, wherein material in the first contained space is dispensed through the dispensing channel without opening the clamshell dispenser.

. The dispenser of claim 1 , wherein the die-cut cover comprises one or more nicks of material spanning the cut that break upon first opening of the cover.

. The dispenser of claim 1 , wherein one or more stiffening ribs are disposed on the flange of the clamshell dispenser to provide additional rigidity and improve tearing.

. The dispenser of claim 1 , wherein one or more stiffening ribs are disposed on the sides of the contained spaces to improve rigidity.

. The dispenser of claim 1 , wherein one or more openings are disposed on the flange to access the roll material and move it through the dispensing channel.

. The dispenser of claim 1 , wherein a surface of the clamshell dispenser comprises at least one undercut adapted to accept a rigid material.

. The dispenser of claim 1 , further comprising, a die-cut opening in each opposed clamshell half that form a handle when the clamshell halves are brought into proximity to one another.

. The dispenser of claim 1 , further comprising, a die-cut opening in each opposed clamshell half that form a hang hole when the clamshell halves are brought into proximity to one another.

. The dispenser of claim 1 , further comprising, at least one interlocking feature that is formed from a male portion of the feature molded into the first opposed clamshell half and a female portion of the feature molded into the second opposed clamshell half

. The dispenser of claim 9 , wherein the interlocking feature is a button lock.

. The dispenser of claim 1 , wherein the die cut cover is cut on fewer than all sides.

. The dispenser of claim 1 , wherein the die cut cover is cut on all sides to enable removal from the dispenser.

. The dispenser of claim 1 , wherein the tearing surface is at least one of serrated and wavy.

. The dispenser of claim 1 , further comprising, a built-in flat or folded writing board.

. The dispenser of claim 1 , further comprising, an insert card held in place inside clamshell.
