Abstract
A surgical method for distracting adjacent spinal vertebrae or spinal process is disclosed. The steps of the method includes: inserting a device between the adjacent spinal vertebrae or the spinous processes, wherein the device includes at least a main portion and a stabilizing portion; and providing at least two contacts between the device and the adjacent vertebrae or the spinous processes, wherein the contacts are located on a side of vertebrae, or spinous process.

1 . A surgical method for distracting adjacent spinal vertebrae, each of the spinal vertebrae comprising a spinal process, the steps comprising:
inserting a device between the adjacent spinal vertebrae or the spinous processes, wherein the device comprises at least a main portion and a stabilizing portion; and providing at least two contacts between the device and the adjacent vertebrae or the spinous processes, wherein the contacts are located on a side of vertebrae, or spinous process.
2 . A surgical method for distracting adjacent spinal vertebrae of a spine, each of the spinal vertebrae comprising a spinal process, the steps comprising:
inserting a device between the adjacent vertebrae or the spinous processes, wherein the device comprises at least a main portion, and at least a foldable stabilizing portion; and opening the stabilizing portion, wherein the stabilizing portion pivots from a posterior towards an anterior side of the spine.
3 . The surgical method as claimed in claim 2 , further comprising: providing at least two contacts between the device and the adjacent vertebrae or the spinous processes, wherein the contacts located on a side of the vertebrae or the spinous process.
4 . The surgical method as claimed in claim 2 , further comprising: providing at least a sliding bar to open the stabilizing portion pivotally when the sliding bar moves toward the stabilizing portion.
5 . The surgical method as claimed in claim 4 , wherein the sliding bar moves toward the stabilizing portions in a direction parallel to an axis that the stabilizing portion pivots about.
6 . The surgical method as claimed in claim 2 , further comprising: moving a sliding bar in the main portion to open the stabilizing portion, wherein movement of the sliding bar in the main portion drives the main portion to abut against the stabilizing portions and drives the main portion translate across the stabilizing portions so that the stabilizing portions are driven to rotatably expand toward the adjacent vertebrae of the spine.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
