Abstract
The present invention provides a novel glyceroglycolipid produced by Mycoplasma pneumoniae . The glyceroglycolipid can be used as a diagnostic marker for a disease caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae.

wherein in the formula: when R 1 =OH, R 2 =H, and each R 3 can be independently selected from saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon groups, or when R 1 =H, R 2 =OH, and R 3 is saturated hydrocarbon groups or salts thereof.
2 . The compound according to claim 1 , wherein R 3 is —(CH 2 ) n CH 3 , wherein n is 12, 14, 16 or 18.
3 . The compound according to claim 1 , wherein said compound is selected from the group consisting of:
3-O-[(β-D-galactopyranosyl)-(1,6)-(β-D-galactopyranosyl)]-1,2-di-O-acyl-sn-glycerol; 3-O-[(β-D-glucopyranosyl)-(1,6)-(β-D-galactopyranosyl)]-1,2-di-O-acyl-sn-glycerol; and salts thereof.
4 . A composition comprising the compound according to claim 1 and a carrier thereof.
5 . A diagnostic agent for detection of a disease caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae , which comprises the compound according to claim 1 and a carrier thereof.
6 . The diagnostic agent according to claim 5 , wherein said disease is selected from the group consisting of: mycoplasma pneumonia, asthma and a nervous disease.
7 . A diagnostic kit for detection of a disease caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae , which comprises the compound according to claim 1 and a carrier thereof.
8 . The diagnostic kit according to claim 7 , wherein said disease is selected from the group consisting of: mycoplasma pneumonia, asthma and a nervous disease.
9 . A method for diagnosing a disease caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae , comprising the steps of:
i. bringing the compound according to claim 1 into contact with a sample from a subject; and ii. immunologically detecting or measuring an antibody to the compound according to claim 1 in the sample.
10 . The diagnostic method according to claim 9 , wherein said disease is selected from the group consisting of: mycoplasma pneumonia, asthma and a nervous disease.
11 . The diagnostic agent according to claim 5 , wherein the compound has galactose at the nonreducing terminus.
12 . The diagnostic agent according to claim 5 , wherein the compound has glucose at the nonreducing terminus.
13 . An antibody specifically binding to a compound represented by the following general formula:
wherein in the formula: when R 1 =OH, R 2 =H, and each R 3 can be independently selected from saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon groups, or when R 1 =H, R 2 =OH, and R 3 is saturated hydrocarbon groups or salts thereof.
14 . The antibody according to claim 13 , wherein R 3 is —(CH 2 )CH 3 wherein n is 12, 14, 16 or 18.
15 . The antibody according to claim 13 , wherein said antibody specifically binds to a compound selected from the group consisting of:
3-O-[(β-D-galactopyranosyl)-(1,6)-(β-D-galactopyranosyl)]-1,2-di-O-acyl-sn-glycerol; 3-O-[(β-D-glucopyranosyl)-(1,6)-(β-D-galactopyranosyl)]-1,2-di-O-acyl-sn-glycerol; and salts thereof.
16 . The antibody according to claim 13 , wherein said antibody is a monoclonal antibody.
17 . A composition comprising the antibody according to claim 13 and a carrier thereof.
18 . A diagnostic agent for detection of a disease caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae , which comprises the antibody according to claim 13 and a carrier thereof.
19 . The diagnostic agent according to claim 18 , wherein said disease is selected from the group consisting of: mycoplasma pneumonia, asthma and a nervous disease.
20 . A kit for detecting Mycoplasma pneumoniae , which comprises the antibody according to claim 13 and a carrier thereof.
21 . A kit for diagnosing a disease caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae , which comprises the antibody according to claim 13 and a carrier thereof.
22 . The kit according to claim 21 , wherein said disease is selected from the group consisting of: mycoplasma pneumonia, asthma and a nervous disease.
23 . A method for detecting the presence of Mycoplasma pneumoniae , comprising the steps of:
i. bringing the antibody according to claim 13 into contact with a sample; and ii. immunologically detecting binding between an antigen substance in the sample and the antibody according to claim 13 .
24 . A method for diagnosing a disease caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae , comprising the steps of:
i. bringing the antibody according to claim 13 into contact with a sample from a subject; and ii. immunologically detecting binding between an antigen substance in the sample and the antibody according to claim 13 .
25 . The method according to claim 24 , wherein said disease is selected from the group consisting of: mycoplasma pneumonia, asthma and a nervous disease.
26 . The compound according to claim 1 , wherein said compound is an isolated natural compound derived from Mycoplasma pneumoniae.
27 . The compound according to claim 1 , wherein said compound is a synthesized compound.
28 . The compound according to claim 1 , wherein R 3 is —(CH 2 ) n CH 3 , wherein n is 14 or 16.
29 . The diagnostic kit according to claim 7 , wherein the compound has galactose at the nonreducing terminus.
30 . The diagnostic kit according to claim 7 , wherein the compound has glucose at the nonreducing terminus.
31 . The diagnostic method according to claim 9 , wherein the compound has galactose at the nonreducing terminus.
32 . The diagnostic method according to claim 9 , wherein the compound has glucose at the nonreducing terminus.
