Abstract

A method for providing treatment to a sink is disclosed. The method includes providing a device that includes a dome that includes one or more treatment materials, and a support member extending in a generally radial direction from the dome. The method further includes placing the device into a sink basin such that the support member engages the basin and the dome is generally aligned with a drain opening of the sink.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed:

1 . A method for providing treatment to a sink, comprising:
 providing a device that includes:
a dome that includes one or more treatment materials; and
a support member extending in a generally radial direction from the dome; and
placing the device into a sink basin such that the support member engages the basin and the dome is generally aligned with a drain opening of the sink.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the support member is circular in cross-section.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the support member is square in cross-section.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein placing the device into the sink basin includes placing the device such that the dome extends into the drain opening.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein placing the device into the sink basin includes placing the device such that the dome extends away from the drain opening.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the dome includes one or more drainage apertures for allowing flow into and out of the dome.

7 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising removing a grate cover from the sink before placing the device into the sink basin.

8 . The method of claim 7 , further comprising replacing the grate cover onto the sink after placing the device into the sink basin.

9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the sink is a floor sink.

10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the support member spans a portion of the basin when engaged therewith.

11 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the support member is generally flat and makes generally continuous contact with the basin.

12 . A method for providing treatment to a sink, comprising:
 providing a device that includes:
an enclosure that at least partially encloses one or more treatment materials; and
a support member extending from the enclosure; and
placing the device into a sink basin such that the support member engages the basin and liquid flowing through the enclosure dissolves the one or more treatment materials.

13 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the support member is circular in cross-section.

14 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the support member is square in cross-section.

15 . The method of claim 12 , wherein placing the device into the sink basin includes placing the device such that the enclosure extends into the drain opening.

16 . The method of claim 12 , wherein placing the device into the sink basin includes placing the device such that the enclosure extends away from the drain opening.

17 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the enclosure includes one or more drainage apertures for allowing flow into and out of the dome.

         18 . A device that includes:
a dome that includes one or more treatment materials; and a support member extending in a generally radial direction from the dome and defining a floor sink basin engaging surface that is engaged with a floor sink basin when the device is installed therein.
