Abstract

The present invention is directed to a receiver mounting block arrangement for a rifle where the mounting block attaches to the receiver. The receiver includes scope mounting ridges adapted to receive a scope for the rifle. The receiver also includes a connection for directly receiving and securing a rifle barrel.

The invention claimed is: 
     
         1 . A receiver and mounting ridge arrangement comprising,
 a receiver having a body with a first end and a second end,   a first mounting ridge disposed on said receiver, and   a second mounting ridge disposed on said receiver,   wherein the first mounting ridge and the second mounting ridge are integrally formed into the body of the receiver, and the first mounting ridge and the second mounting ridge are adapted to receive a scope.   
     
     
         2 . The receiver and mounting ridge arrangement according to  claim 1 , further comprising,
 a mounting block having a mounting body with a first end and a second end, and   wherein the receiver comprises a surface adapted for attachment to the mounting block, the mounting block being adapted for attachment to a rifle stock.   
     
     
         3 . The receiver and mounting ridge arrangement according to  claim 2 , further comprising,
 wherein the receiver is attached to the mounting block.   
     
     
         4 . The receiver and mounting ridge arrangement according to  claim 3 , further comprising,
 a rifle stock having a stock body with a first end and a second end, and   wherein the mounting block is attached to the rifle stock.   
     
     
         5 . The receiver and mounting ridge arrangement according to  claim 1 , wherein the first mounting ridge and the second mounting ridge each have a T-shaped cross-section. 
     
     
         6 . The receiver and mounting ridge arrangement according to  claim 1 , wherein the first mounting ridge and the second mounting ridge are interspersed with a plurality of projections and a plurality of slots between said first end and said second end of the body of the receiver. 
     
     
         7 . The receiver and mounting ridge arrangement according to  claim 1 , wherein the plurality of projections and the plurality of slots interspersed on the first mounting ridge and the second mounting ridge are evenly spaced between said first end and said second end of said body of the receiver. 
     
     
         8 . The receiver and mounting ridge arrangement according to  claim 1 , wherein the first mounting ridge and the second mounting ridge each have a T-shaped cross-section, and wherein the first mounting ridge and the second mounting ridge are interspersed with a plurality of projections and a plurality of slots between said first end and said second end of the body of the receiver. 
     
     
         9 . The receiver and mounting ridge arrangement according to  claim 1 , further comprising a threaded connection configured for direct attachment of a rifle to the receiver at the first end of the body of said receiver. 
     
     
         10 . The receiver and mounting ridge arrangement according to  claim 1 , further comprising a rifle barrel in direct attachment to the receiver at the first end of the body of said receiver, and
 wherein the rifle barrel is attached to the receiver without fasteners.   
     
     
         11 . The receiver and mounting ridge arrangement according to  claim 1 , further comprising a rifle barrel in direct attachment to the receiver at the first end of the body of said receiver, and
 wherein the rifle barrel is directly attached to an internal thread of said receiver.   
     
     
         12 . A receiver and mounting block arrangement comprising,
 a receiver having a body with a first end and a second end,   a first mounting ridge disposed on said receiver,   a second mounting ridge disposed on said receiver,   a mounting block having a mounting body with a first end and a second end, and   an internal thread disposed at the first end of the body of said receiver configured for securing a rifle barrel,   wherein the first mounting ridge and the second mounting ridge are integrally formed into the body of the receiver, the first mounting ridge and the second mounting ridge are adapted to receive a scope, and   wherein the receiver comprises a surface adapted for attachment to the mounting block, the mounting block being adapted for attachment to a rifle stock.   
     
     
         13 . The receiver and mounting ridge arrangement according to  claim 12 ,
 wherein the receiver is attached to the mounting block.   
     
     
         14 . The receiver and mounting ridge arrangement according to  claim 13 , further comprising,
 a rifle stock having a stock body with a first end and a second end, and   wherein the mounting block is attached to the rifle stock.   
     
     
         15 . The receiver and mounting ridge arrangement according to  claim 12 , wherein the first mounting ridge and the second mounting ridge each have a T-shaped cross-section. 
     
     
         16 . The receiver and mounting ridge arrangement according to  claim 12 , wherein the first mounting ridge and the second mounting ridge are interspersed with a plurality of projections and a plurality of slots between said first end and said second end of the body of the receiver. 
     
     
         17 . The receiver and mounting ridge arrangement according to  claim 12 , wherein the plurality of projections and the plurality of slots interspersed on the first mounting ridge and the second mounting ridge are evenly spaced between said first end and said second end of said body of the receiver. 
     
     
         18 . The receiver and mounting ridge arrangement according to  claim 12 , wherein the first mounting ridge and the second mounting ridge each have a T-shaped cross-section, and wherein the first mounting ridge and the second mounting ridge are interspersed with a plurality of projections and a plurality of slots between said first end and said second end of the body of the receiver. 
     
     
         19 . The receiver and mounting ridge arrangement according to  claim 12 , further comprising a rifle barrel in direct attachment to the receiver at the first end of the body of said receiver, and
 wherein the rifle barrel is attached to the receiver without fasteners.   
     
     
         20 . The receiver and mounting ridge arrangement according to  claim 1 , further comprising a rifle barrel in direct attachment to the receiver at the first end of the body of said receiver, and
 wherein the rifle barrel is directly attached to said internal thread of said receiver.
