Recording medium, reproduction device, integrated circuit, reproduction method, and program
Abstract
A playback apparatus reads a byte-code application from a recording medium, and performs a playback control in accordance with the byte-code application. The playback apparatus includes a manager that selects a current title specified by an index table recorded on the recording medium. A display controller initializes a display rate of a display device using display rate initialization information, including a display rate applied to playlist information specifying video data, in an operation mode object corresponding to the current title. The operation mode object is recorded on the recording medium. A platform starts the byte-code application indicated in an application management table in the operation mode object. A graphics plane stores graphics data drawn by the byte-code application, and a playback controller plays back the video data specified by the playlist information selected by the byte-code application.

a manager that selects a current title from a plurality of titles specified by an index table recorded on the recording medium; a display controller that initializes a display rate of a display device by using display rate initialization information, including a display rate applied to playlist information specifying video data, in an operation mode object corresponding to the current title, the operation mode object recorded on the recording medium; a platform that starts the byte-code application indicated in an application management table in the operation mode object corresponding to the current title; a graphics plane that stores graphics data drawn by the byte-code application; and a playback controller that plays back the video data specified by the playlist information selected by the byte-code application, wherein the graphics data are output to the display device with the initialized display rate during a period from a starting of the byte-code application until a selection of the playlist information by the byte-code application, no video data is played back by the playback controller during the period, the display rate initialization information further includes resolution information that indicates one of a 1920×1080 resolution and a 1280×720 resolution, and the byte code application draws the graphics data with the one of the 1920×1080 resolution and the 1280×720 resolution indicated by the resolution information.
2 . The playback apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the byte code application draws the graphics data corresponding to a graphical user interface.
3 . The playback apparatus of claim 1 , wherein
a digital stream is recorded on the recording medium, the playback apparatus further comprises:
a reader operable to read the digital stream from the recording medium;
a demuliplexer operable to demultiplex a video stream from the digital stream; and
a decoder operable to decode the video stream, and
the initialized display rate includes a display frequency that is to be applied to the display device when picture data constituting the video stream is output for display in a progressive format.
4 . The playback apparatus of claim 3 , wherein
the video stream included in the digital stream includes a base-view video stream and a dependent-view video stream, each of the base-view video stream and the dependent-view video stream is composed of a plurality of view components, the plurality of view components of the base-view video stream and the plurality of view components of the dependent-view video stream being played back together to realize a stereoscopic effect, and the display frequency is shown by the display rate initialization information and applied to the display device when the plurality of view components of the base-view video stream and the plurality of view components of the dependent-view video stream are played back.
5 . The playback apparatus of claim 4 , further comprising:
3D playlist information, wherein the 3D playlist information includes main-path information and sub-path information, the main-path information defining a first playback section by specifying a first pair of a first in-time and a first out-time on a first time axis of the base-view video stream, the sub-path information defining a second playback section by specifying a second pair of a second in-time and a second out-time on a second time axis of the dependent-view video stream, and the byte-code application indicated by the application management table causes the playback apparatus to play back the video stream with use of the 3D playlist information by generating a player instance whose target is the 3D playlist information.
6 . The playback apparatus of claim 3 , wherein picture data is output in a non-compression/plaintext format obtained by decoding, by the decoder, to the display device via a predetermined digital interface.
7 . A playback method, for use in a playback device, for reading a byte-code application from a recording medium, and performing a playback control in accordance with the byte-code application, the playback method comprising:
selecting a current title from a plurality of titles specified by an index table recorded on the recording medium; initializing a display rate of a display device by using display rate initialization information, including a display rate applied to playlist information specifying video data, in an operation mode object corresponding to the current title, the operation mode object recorded on the recording medium; starting the byte-code application indicated in an application management table in the operation mode object corresponding to the current title; storing graphics data, drawn by the byte-code application, in a graphics plane included in the playback device; and playing back the video data specified by the playlist information selected by the byte-code application, wherein the graphics data are output to the display device with the initialized display rate during a period from the starting of the byte-code application until a selection of the playlist information by the byte-code application, no video data is played back during the period, the display rate initialization information further includes resolution information that indicates one of a 1920×1080 resolution and a 1280×720 resolution, and the byte code application draws the graphics data with the one of the 1920×1080 resolution and the 1280×720 resolution indicated by the resolution information.
8 . A non-transitory computer-readable recording medium storing a program for causing a computer to read a byte-code application from a recording medium, and perform a playback control in accordance with the byte-code application, the program causing the computer to execute:
selecting a current title from a plurality of titles specified by an index table recorded on the recording medium; initializing a display rate of a display device by using display rate initialization information, including a display rate applied to playlist information specifying video data, in an operation mode object corresponding to the current title, the operation mode object recorded on the recording medium; starting the byte-code application indicated in an application management table in the operation mode object corresponding to the current title; storing graphics data, drawn by the byte-code application, in a graphics plane included in the computer; and playing back the video data specified by the playlist information selected by the byte-code application, wherein the graphics data are output to the display device with the initialized display rate during a period from the starting of the byte-code application until a selection of the playlist information by the byte-code application, no video data is played back during the period, the display rate initialization information further includes resolution information that indicates one of a 1920×1080 resolution and a 1280×720 resolution, and the byte code application draws the graphics data with the one of the 1920×1080 resolution and the 1280×720 resolution indicated by the resolution information.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
