Belt-mounted, Two-way Radio Holder Unit Assembly
Abstract
A belt-mounted, two-way radio holder unit assembly of the present invention is comprised of two components, namely, a belt mount and a radio holder made of high strength plastic. The radio holder releasably engages the belt mount by means of a post and a disc of the radio holder which are inserted into a receiver of the belt mount. When the radio holder is unreleasably engaged with the belt mount, the radio holder can rotate within the receiver throughout a range of up to, but less than, 180 degrees in both of either a clockwise or a counter-clockwise direction without disengaging from the receiver. The rotational ability of the radio holder within the receiver allows a two-way radio to swivel and move freely in relation to a user's belt and body and, accordingly, the two-way radio does not bind when the user is in a seated position.

1 . A belt-mounted, two-way radio holder unit assembly comprising:
a. A belt mount, having a through-hole therein for accommodating a belt threaded there-through, and a receiver located on a front of the belt mount for releasably engaging with; b. A radio holder, comprising a plate with a pair of blades integral with the plate and located on a back side of and toward a top of the plate, and with a disc integral with a post which post is integral with the plate and located on a front side of and toward a bottom of the plate; wherein the blades slidably mate with and engage a pair of grooves on an outer surface of a battery of a two-way radio.
2 . The unit assembly as claimed in claim 1 , further wherein the radio holder further comprises a tension lock, having a nipple thereon, and located between the blades, further wherein the nipple of the tension lock snaps into a divot located between the pair of grooves on the battery.
3 . The unit assembly as claimed in claim 1 , further wherein the belt mount further comprises a through-hole opening in the through-hole to enable the belt mount to slip over and onto or off a belt.
4 . The unit assembly as claimed in claim 1 , further wherein the disc has a straight edge and an arcuate edge.
5 . The unit assembly as claimed in claim 1 , further wherein the receiver has a guide to guide the radio holder into the receiver, a disc seat to receive and engage with the disc, and a receiver stop.
6 . The unit assembly as claimed in claim 5 , further wherein receiver stop unreleasably engages the arcuate edge of the disc and secures the disc within the disc seat of the receiver.
7 . The unit assembly as claimed in claim 6 , further wherein when the radio holder is engaged unreleasably with the belt mount, the radio holder can rotate within the receiver throughout a range of up to, but less than, 180 degrees in both of either a clockwise or a counter-clockwise direction without disengaging from the receiver.
8 . A belt-mounted, two-way radio holder unit assembly comprising:
a. A belt mount made of high strength plastic, having a through-hole therein for accommodating a belt threaded there-through; and a receiver located on a front of the belt mount and having a guide to guide a radio holder into the receiver, a disc seat to receive and engage with a disc of a radio holder, and a receiver stop, which receiver releasably engages with; b. A radio holder made of high strength plastic, comprising a plate with a pair of blades integral with the plate and located on a back side of and toward a top of the plate, and with a disc integral with a post which post is integral with the plate and located on a front side of and toward a bottom of the plate; wherein the blades slidably mate with and engage a pair of grooves on an outer surface of a battery of a two-way radio; and further wherein the disc has a straight edge and an arcuate edge; further wherein the receiver stop unreleasably engages the arcuate edge of the disc and secures the disc within the disc seat of the receiver; and further wherein when the radio holder is engaged unreleasably with the belt mount, the radio holder can rotate within the receiver throughout a range of up to, but less than, 180 degrees in both of either a clockwise or a counter-clockwise direction without disengaging from the receiver.
9 . The unit assembly as claimed in claim 8 , further wherein the radio holder further comprises a tension lock, having a nipple thereon, and located between the blades, further wherein the nipple of the tension lock snaps into a divot located between the pair of grooves on the battery.
