Abstract

A system and method for receiving and filtering a video signal to change spatial characteristic information of a display window included the video signal.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A video display device, comprising:
display driver interfaces operable to receive video display driver signals from display drivers; a video signal generator, communicatively coupled to the display driver interfaces, wherein the video signal generator is configured to generate a video signal including information of display windows corresponding to the video display driver signals; and a filter, communicatively coupled to the video signal generator, wherein the filter is configured to change dimensions, positions, or layering of the display windows by sampling, interpolating, or transformation matrix processing the video signal.

2 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the video signal generator comprises a window multiplexer that operates to output a signal comprising information of the display windows.

3 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the display driver interfaces comprise a composite video input or a component video input.

4 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the display driver interfaces comprise an input compatible with a computer graphics card output.

5 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the display driver interfaces comprise a respective wireless interface capable of receiving a respective wireless video display driver signal.

6 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the filter comprises a control module operable to receive a window control signal from a user and determine dimensions, positions, or layering of the display windows based, at least in part, on the window control signal.

7 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the video signal generator comprises:
input sub-modules operable to receive the video display driver signals, and transform and convert the video display driver signals to digital window signals, respectively; and an output sub-module operable to combine the digital window signals into a digital output video signal.

8 . The device of claim 7 , further comprising an output display driver operable to communicate the digital output video signal to a video display device.

9 . The device of claim 8 , wherein the output display driver includes a display buffer to store at least a portion of the digital output video signal.

10 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the video signal generator includes a graphics generator operable to generate graphics information associated with the display windows.

11 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising a remote control interface operable to receive window control information from a remote control, wherein the window control information comprises information of dimensions, positions, or layering of the display windows, and wherein the changing of dimensions, positions, or layering of the display windows is based on the window control information.

12 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the display driver interfaces, the video signal generator, and the filter are integrated in an integrated circuit.

         13 . A method, comprising:
receiving, at a module, a video signal, the video signal comprising information of a display window; and changing, by the module, a dimension, a position, or layering with respect to another display window by filtering the video signal.

14 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the filtering of the video signal includes sampling the video signal.

15 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the filtering of the video signal includes interpolating the video signal.

16 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the filtering of the video signal includes transformation matrix processing the video signal.

         17 . A method, comprising:
receiving, at an interface, a video signal, the video signal comprising spatial characteristic information of a display window; and filtering, by a filter communicatively coupled to the interface, the video signal to change the spatial characteristic information of the display window.

18 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the spatial characteristic information includes a dimension of the display window.

19 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the spatial characteristic information includes a position of the display window.

20 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the spatial characteristic information includes layering of the display window with respect to another display window.
