Drag inducing swimwear

Abstract

An exercise and training device for swimmers in the form of a shirt, top, or singlet that, due to the material of manufacture, increases the resistance to the swimmer's movement through the water.

1 . An article of swimwear for a wearer comprising:
 a torso portion comprising a non-interfering material;   wherein the drag coefficient of the non-interfering material is larger than the drag coefficient of the wearer not wearing the article of swimwear;   wherein the drag coefficient increases the muscle exertion by the wearer wearing the article of swimwear relative to the wearer not wearing the article of swimwear;   wherein the non-interfering material does not interfere with the wearer's motion while wearing the article of swimwear; and   wherein the article undergoes minimal movement with respect to the wearer's body.   
     
     
         2 . The article of swimwear of  claim 1 , wherein the article of swimwear does not hinder the wearer's movement while wearing. 
     
     
         3 . The article of swimwear of  claim 1 , wherein the non-interfering material comprises a cotton-based stretch fabric. 
     
     
         4 . The article of swimwear of  claim 1 , further comprising long sleeves for covering the wearer's arms, the long sleeves comprising means for fitting over and engaging at least one of the wearer's fingers for preventing the sleeves from movement while the wearer is wearing the article of swimwear. 
     
     
         5 . The article of swimwear of  claim 1 , further comprising a pant portion made from the non-interfering material. 
     
     
         6 . The article of swimwear of  claim 5 , wherein the pant portion further comprises a crotch region further made from the second material having the second elasticity. 
     
     
         7 . The article of swimwear of  claim 5 , wherein the torso portion and the pant portion are form-fitting to the wearer's body. 
     
     
         8 . The article of swimwear of  claim 1 , wherein the torso portion is form-fitting to the wearer's body. 
     
     
         9 . The article of swimwear of  claim 1 , wherein the torso portion further comprises a shoulder region made from a second material. 
     
     
         10 . The article of swimwear of  claim 9 , wherein the non-interfering material has a first elasticity and the second material has a second elasticity. 
     
     
         11 . An article of swimwear for a wearer comprising:
 a non-interfering material;   wherein the drag coefficient of the non-interfering material is larger than the drag coefficient of the wearer not wearing the article of swimwear;   wherein the drag coefficient increases the muscle exertion by the wearer wearing the article of swimwear relative to the wearer not wearing the article of swimwear;   wherein the non-interfering material does not interfere with the wearer's motion while wearing the article of swimwear; and   wherein the article undergoes minimal movement with respect to the wearer's body.   
     
     
         12 . The article of swimwear of  claim 11 , wherein the article of swimwear does not hinder the wearer's movement while wearing. 
     
     
         13 . The article of swimwear of  claim 11 , wherein the non-interfering material comprises a cotton-based stretch fabric.

The article of swimwear of  claim 11 , further comprising long sleeves for covering the wearer's arms, the long sleeves comprising means for fitting over and engaging at least one of the wearer's fingers for preventing the sleeves from movement while the wearer is wearing the article of swimwear. 
     
     
         15 . The article of swimwear of  claim 11 , further comprising a torso portion made from the non-interfering material. 
     
     
         16 . The article of swimwear of  claim 11 , further comprising a pant portion made from the non-interfering material. 
     
     
         17 . The article of swimwear of  claim 16 , wherein the torso portion and the pant portion are form-fitting to the wearer's body. 
     
     
         18 . The article of swimwear of  claim 16 , wherein the pant portion further comprises a crotch region made from the second material having the second elasticity. 
     
     
         19 . The article of swimwear of  claim 11 , wherein the article of swimwear is form-fitting to the wearer's body. 
     
     
         20 . The article of swimwear of  claim 11 , wherein the torso portion further comprises a shoulder region further made from a second material. 
     
     
         21 . The article of swimwear of  claim 20 , wherein the non-interfering material has a first elasticity and the second material has a second elasticity.
