Abstract
A communication system and method for single-point transmission and reception and coordinated multi-point transmission and reception are provided. The system and method include determining information associated with a channel status of a target terminal. The system and method also include selecting, with respect to the target terminal, one of single-point transmission and reception and coordinated multi-point transmission and reception based on the information associated with the channel status of the target terminal.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A method for a handover, the method comprising:
determining points in time at which signals transmitted from a plurality of base stations are received at a terminal; and selecting a serving base station from the plurality of base stations based on the determined points in time.
2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising determining propagation delays of the signals transmitted from the plurality of base stations based on the determined received points in time;
wherein the selecting of a serving base station further comprises selecting the serving base station from the plurality of base stations based on the propagation delays.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the selecting of a serving base station further comprises selecting as the serving base station a base station that transmitted a signal that was received earliest at the terminal among the signals transmitted from the plurality of base stations.
4 . A communication apparatus comprising:
a recognition unit configured to determine points in time at which signals transmitted from a plurality of base stations are received at a terminal; and a selecting unit configured to select a serving base station from the plurality of base stations based on the determined points in time.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
