Abstract
A method for scheduling a banking transaction using a mobile communication device. The method includes creating a task on the mobile communication device to perform a banking transaction while the mobile communication device has no network connectivity, the mobile communication device actively monitoring for an available network to access. In response to identifying an available network to access, the mobile communication device automatically connects to the available network and uploads the task to a server to complete the banking transaction.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A method for processing a banking transaction using a mobile communication device, the method comprising:
providing a mobile communication device with a visual display, a processor, a first communication channel which supports voice and data interactions at a radio transceiver at the hand-held mobile device using at least one of GSM and CDMA and runs a client application; executing an application on the mobile communications device running on the mobile communication device without requiring device authentication to create a task to perform a banking transaction and to subsequently assign the task a status of pending while the mobile communication device has no network connectivity; actively monitoring, by the transceiver in the mobile communication device, for available network connectivity; automatically connecting, by the transceiver in the mobile communication device, to an available network upon identifying available network connectivity and uploading the task that has a status defined as pending to a remote server; refreshing the status and displaying a new status of the task in the mobile application after the remote server has received the task; processing the transaction at the remote server; and delivering transaction data to the application running on the mobile device where it is displayed on the mobile device.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the banking transaction comprises one or more of a bill pay transaction, a fund transfer transaction, and a pay anyone transaction,
3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
receiving a series of short message service (SMS) message at the mobile communication device upon the mobile communication device re-establishing network connectivity; identifying that the series of SMS message are related to the banking transaction by observing a pre-defined port at the mobile communication device; assembling the series of SMS messages related to the banking transaction in accordance with a pre-defined sequence; and displaying information reflected by the series of SMS messages at the mobile communication device.
4 . The method of claim 1 in which the Point-Of Sale terminal notifies the remote server that payment processing is complete for the task.
5 . The method of claim 1 ,wherein the response indicates payment processing is successful for the task
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the response indicates payment processing is not successful for the task.
7 . A system for processing a banking transaction, comprising:
a hand-held mobile device with a visual display, a processor, a first communication channel which supports voice and data interactions at a radio transceiver at the hand-held mobile device using at least one of GSM and CDMA; the processor of the hand-held mobile device executes an application running on the hand-held mobile device without requiring device authentication and subsequently assigns the task a status of pending while the hand-held mobile device has no network connectivity; the transceiver actively monitors for available network connectivity, automatically connects to an available network upon identifying available network connectivity and uploads the task that has a status defined as pending to a remote server; the visual display displays a new status of the task in the mobile application after the remote server has received the task; and the remote server processes the transaction and delivers transaction data to the application running on the mobile device where it is displayed on the visual display of the hand-held mobile device.
8 . A method for processing a banking transaction using a mobile communication device, the method comprising:
providing a mobile communication device with a visual display, a first processor, a first communication channel which supports voice and data interactions at a first radio transceiver at the hand-held mobile device using at least one of GSM and CDMA, running a client application; executing an application running on the mobile communication device to create a task to perform a banking transaction and to subsequently assign the task a status of pending while the mobile communication device has no network connectivity; actively monitoring, using the transceiver in the mobile communication device, for available network connectivity, automatically connecting to an available network upon identifying available network connectivity and uploading the task that has a status defined as pending to a remote server; processing the transaction at the remote server; and delivering transaction data to the application running on the mobile device where it is displayed on the mobile device.
9 . A system for processing a banking transaction, comprising:
a hand-held mobile device with a visual display, a processor, a first communication channel which supports voice and data interactions at a radio transceiver at the hand-held mobile device using at least one of GSM and CDMA; the processor of the hand-held mobile device executes an application running on the hand-held mobile device without requiring device authentication and subsequently assigns the task a status of pending while the hand-held mobile device has no network connectivity; the transceiver actively monitors for available network connectivity, automatically connects to an available network upon identifying available network connectivity and uploads the task that has a status defined as pending to a remote server; and a remote server that processes the transaction at the remote server and delivers transaction data to the application running on the mobile device where it is displayed on the mobile device.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
