Abstract

Provided is a display apparatus and a method of manufacture. The display apparatus includes a first substrate with a plurality of organic electroluminescence devices, a second substrate with a color filter, the second substrate facing the first substrate, and an adhesive layer disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate so as to cover the plurality of organic electroluminescence devices, the adhesive layer being made of a material selected from the group consisting of a phenol resin, a melanin resin, an unsaturated polyester resin, an epoxy resin, a silicon resin and a polyurethane resin.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A display apparatus comprising:
a first substrate with an EL layer including a plurality of organic electroluminescence devices; a second substrate with a color filter, the second substrate facing the first substrate; a fixing portion made of a curing resin that is bonded between the first and second substrates, and that is provided along at least a portion of an outer perimeter of the EL layer.

2 . The display apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the curing resin is an ultraviolet curing resin.

3 . The display apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the fixing portion is provided along each side of the outer perimeter of the EL layer.

4 . The display apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein at least a portion of the outer perimeter of the EL layer does not include the fixing portion.

5 . The display apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising an insulating layer formed between adjacent organic electroluminescence devices, and formed between the EL layer and the fixing layer.

6 . The display apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the fixing layer has a crescent shape.

7 . The display apparatus according to claim 6 , wherein the fixing layer has a concave inner surface that faces the EL layer.

8 . The display apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising an adhesive layer disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate so as to contact the fixing layer and cover the plurality of organic electroluminescence devices, the adhesive layer being made of a material selected from the group consisting of a phenol resin, a melanin resin, an unsaturated polyester resin, an epoxy resin, a silicon resin and a polyurethane resin.

9 . The display apparatus according to claim 8 , wherein the adhesive layer is made of at least one coating liquid for curing.

10 . The display apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the color filter is disposed on a side of the second substrate facing the first substrate.

11 . The display apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein a reflected-light absorbing film is disposed on the second substrate.

12 . The display apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein each of the plurality of organic electroluminescence devices includes a first electrode, one or more organic layers including a light-emitting layer, and a second electrode laminated in this order from the first substrate side.

13 . The display apparatus according to claim 12 , wherein the first electrode is an anode and the second electrode is a cathode.

14 . The display apparatus according to claim 12 , wherein the second electrode includes a semitransparent electrode having semi-transparency for light generated in the light-emitting layer, and a transparent electrode having transmittance for the light generated in the light-emitting layer, which are laminated in this order from the side of the organic layer.

15 . The display apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising an antireflective film formed on the second substrate.
