Cooling system for a drum throne

Abstract

A drum throne with a cooling system comprises a seat, a stand and a cooling system attachment. The seat has a seat frame a breathable seat surface coupled to the seat frame that allows air to pass therethrough and a mounting bracket coupled to the seat frame underneath the breathable seat surface. The stand has a central support post that detachably couples to the mounting bracket and a plurality of legs that adjustably extend from the central support post. The cooling system attachment detachably couples to either the mounting bracket of the seat or to the central support post of the stand. The cooling system attachment further includes a fan mounting support to releasably hold a fan that directs air to flow through the breathable seat surface of the seat.

1 . A drum throne comprising:
 a seat having:
 a seat frame; 
 a breathable seat surface that is coupled to the seat frame such that air can pass though the breathable seat surface; and 
 a mounting bracket coupled to the seat frame underneath the breathable seat surface; and 
   a cooling system attachment having:
 an upper arm that detachably couples to the mounting bracket of the seat; 
 a lower arm that couples to the upper arm by an elbow such that the lower arm extends angularly outward from the central support post; and 
 a fan mounting support coupled to the lower arm to releasably hold a fan that directs air to flow through the breathable seat surface of the seat. 
   
     
     
         2 . The drum throne according to  claim 1 , wherein:
 the mounting bracket further comprises a flange that receives a central support of a stand to temporarily couple the seat to the stand.   
     
     
         3 . The drum throne according to  claim 2 , wherein:
 the mounting bracket is recessed underneath the seat and extends generally perpendicular to the flange such that the mounting bracket does not extend beyond a plane corresponding to a bottom edge of the seat frame, which faces towards the legs of the stand.   
     
     
         4 . The drum throne according to  claim 1 , wherein the mounting bracket comprises a mount clamp that is released to allow the upper arm to slide through the mount clamp so as to adjust the length of the upper arm that extends into the mount clamp, and which is tightened to lock the upper arm into a designated position relative to the mounting bracket. 
     
     
         5 . The drum throne according to  claim 1 , wherein the breathable seat surface comprises a fabric mesh. 
     
     
         6 . The drum throne according to  claim 1 , wherein the elbow comprises an adjustment to allow user adjustable positioning of the upper arm and the lower arm to form an obtuse angle. 
     
     
         7 . The drum throne according to  claim 1 , wherein the fan mounting support comprises a shelf attached to the end of the second arm for temporarily attaching a blower fan to the cooling system attachment. 
     
     
         8 . The drum throne according to  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a blower fan that releasably couples to the fan mounting support.   
     
     
         9 . The drum throne according to  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a stand having:
 a central support post that detachably couples to the mounting bracket of the seat; and 
 a plurality of legs that adjustably extend from the central support post. 
   
     
     
         10 . A drum throne comprising:
 a seat having:
 a seat frame; 
 a breathable seat surface that is coupled to the seat frame that allows air to pass therethrough; and 
 a mounting bracket coupled to the seat frame underneath the breathable seat surface; and 
   a cooling system attachment having:
 a bracket that detachably couples to a central support post of a stand so as to project radially out from the central support post; and 
 a fan mounting support coupled to the bracket to releasably hold a fan that directs air to flow through the breathable seat surface of the seat. 
   
     
     
         11 . The drum throne according to  claim 10 , wherein the bracket of the cooling system attachment comprises a first clamp that releasably clamps the bracket to the central support post, and a second clamp that releasably clamps to the fan mounting support. 
     
     
         12 . The drum throne according to  claim 11 , wherein the fan mounting support comprises a bar that forms an acute angle so as to angle a fan attached to the cooling system attachment towards the seat surface of the seat. 
     
     
         13 . The drum throne according to  claim 12 , wherein the fan mounting support further comprises a shelf at the distal end of the bar to temporarily support a fan attached thereto. 
     
     
         14 . The drum throne according to  claim 13 , wherein the fan comprises a blower fan. 
     
     
         15 . The drum throne according to  claim 10 , wherein the fan mounting support attaches to an air multiplier fan that forms a ring around the central support post to direct air flow up through the breathable seat surface. 
     
     
         16 . The drum throne according to  claim 10 , further comprising:
 a blower fan that releasably couples to the fan mounting support such that the fan that angles out from the central support post.   
     
     
         17 . The drum throne according to  claim 10 , wherein the breathable seat surface comprises a fabric mesh. 
     
     
         18 . The drum throne according to  claim 10 , further comprising:
 a stand having:
 a central support post that detachably couples to the mounting bracket of the seat; and 
 a plurality of legs that adjustably extend from the central support post.
