Abstract

A ground spike is disclosed having a plurality of blades and a flat plate secured thereto. The blades each have a reinforcement deformation proximal to a longitudinal outer edge. The reinforcement deformation may be a reinforcement line stamped therein, may be a bent outer edge, or the like. Objects may be attached to the flat plate, thereby securing such objects to the ground when the ground spike is used. The ground spike may have a post receiving socket secured to the flat plate. Each component may comprise metals of varying thickness and rigidity or other suitable materials.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A ground spike, comprising:
 a plurality of vertically oriented blades, the blades configured together along a central vertical axis; and   at least one of said blades comprising a reinforcement deformation extending substantially vertically along at least a portion of said blade;
       wherein said reinforcement deformation comprises an indented portion on one face of said blade and a protruding portion on an opposing face of said blade; and
       wherein each of said blades, with another of said blades, is integrally formed from a single sheet of material, as one of a plurality of pairs of blades.

         2 . The ground spike of claim 1 , wherein the ground spike comprises metal.

         3 . The ground spike of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of blades is four blades.

         4 . The ground spike of claim 1 , wherein said plurality of pairs of blades are welded together.

         5 . The ground spike of claim 1 , wherein said indented portion is substantially concave and said protruding portion is substantially convex.

         6 . The ground spike of claim 1 , wherein said reinforcement deformation is spaced apart from an outer edge of said blade.

         7 . The ground spike of claim 1 , further comprising a post receiving socket, wherein said post receiving socket is attached to said plurality of blades.

         8 . The ground spike of claim 7 , wherein said socket comprises four sides.

         9 . The ground spike of claim 8 , wherein said socket further comprises four bent tabs and wherein one of said bent tabs extends from a lower edge of each of said four sides.

         10 . The ground spike of claim 9 , wherein each of said bent tabs extends normal to a plane of corresponding said side.

         11 . The ground spike of claim 10 , wherein each of said bent tabs extends inwardly of said socket.

         12 . The ground spike of claim 10 , wherein said blades are welded to said bent tabs.

         13 . The ground spike of claim 7 , wherein said socket is of sufficient dimensions to hold a 4×4 post.

         14 . The ground spike of claim of claim 7 , wherein said socket comprises a set of opposing clamping tabs having a first clamping aperture therethrough for receiving a tightening bolt.

         15 . A ground spike, comprising:
 a plurality of vertically oriented blades, the blades configured together along a central vertical axis; and   at least one of said blades comprising a reinforcement deformation extending substantially vertically along at least a portion of said blade;
       wherein said reinforcement deformation comprises an indented portion on one face of said blade and a protruding portion on an opposing face of said blade.

         16 . The ground spike of claim 15 , wherein said indented portion is substantially concave and said protruding portion is substantially convex.

         17 . The ground spike of claim 15 , wherein said reinforcement deformation is spaced apart from an outer edge of said blade.

         18 . The ground spike of claim 15 , further comprising a post receiving socket, wherein said post receiving socket is attached to said plurality of blades.

         19 . A ground spike, comprising:
 a plurality of vertically oriented blades, the blades welded together along a central vertical axis and wherein each of said blades comprises at least one substantially planar surface; and   at least one of said blades comprising a reinforcement deformation extending substantially vertically along said substantially planar surface;
       wherein said reinforcement deformation comprises an indented portion on one face of said substantially planar surface and a protruding portion on an opposing face of said substantially planar surface.

         20 . The ground spike of claim 19 , wherein the ground spike comprises metal.

         21 . The ground spike of claim 19 , wherein said reinforcement deformation is spaced apart from an outer edge of said substantially planar surface.

         22 . The ground spike of claim 19 , wherein said indented portion is substantially concave and said protruding portion is substantially convex.
