Organic electroluminescence device and organic light emitting medium
Abstract
An organic electroluminescence device having a layer of an organic light emitting medium which comprises (A) a specific arylamine compound and (B) at least one compound selected from specific anthracene derivatives, spirofluorene derivatives, compounds having condensed rings and metal complex compounds and is disposed between a pair of electrodes and an organic light emitting medium comprising the above components (A) and (B) are provided. The organic electroluminescence device exhibits a high purity of color, has excellent heat resistance and a long life and efficiently emits bluish to yellowish light. The organic light emitting medium can be advantageously used for the organic electroluminescence device.

18 . An electroluminescence device comprising a pair of electrodes and a layer of an organic light emitting medium disposed between the pair of electrodes,
wherein the layer of an organic light emitting medium comprises: (A) at least one arylamine compound represented by formula V:
wherein X 3 is a residue of a condensed aromatic compound which is selected from the group consisting of naphthalene, phenanthrene, fluoranthene, anthracene, perylene, coronene, chrysene, picene, diphenylanthracene, fluorene, triphenylene, rubicene, benzoanthracene, phenylanthracene, bisanthracene, dianthracenylbenzene, and dibenzoanthracene, the residue being optionally substituted;
Ar 5 and Ar 6 each independently represent a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic group having 6 to 40 carbon atoms; and
p represents an integer of 1 to 4; and
(B) at least one anthracene derivative represented by formula I:
A 1 -L-A 2 (I)
wherein A 1 and A 2 may be the same or different and each independently represent a substituted or unsubstituted monophenylanthryl group or a substituted or unsubstituted diphenylanthryl group, and L represents a single bond or a divalent bonding group;
or formula II:
A 3 -An-A 4 (II)
wherein An represents an anthracene residue which may be substituted, A 3 and A 4 may be the same or different and each independently represent a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group having 6 to 40 carbon atoms, at least one of A 3 and A 4 represents a substituted or unsubstituted condensed aromatic ring group or a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group having 10 or more carbon atoms.
19 . The electroluminescence device according to claim 18 , wherein the anthracene derivative of formula I is represented by formula I-a:
wherein R 1 to R 10 each independently represent hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an aryl group which may be substituted, an alkoxyl group, an aryloxyl group, an alkylamino group, an alkenyl group, an arylamino group or a heterocyclic group which may be substituted;
a and b each represent an integer of 1 to 5;
when a and b each represent an integer of 2 or greater, R 1 groups may be the same or different and may be bonded to each other to form a ring and R 2 groups may be the same or different and may be bonded to each other to form a ring;
R 3 and R 4 , R 5 and R 6 , R 7 and R 8 , and R 9 and R 10 may be bonded to each other to form a ring; and
L 1 represents a single bond, —O—, —S—, —N(R)— wherein R represents an alkyl group or an aryl group which may be substituted, an alkylene group or an arylene group.
20 . The electroluminescence device according to claim 18 , wherein the anthracene derivative of formula I is represented by formula I-b:
wherein R 11 to R ° each independently represent hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an aryl group which may be substituted, an alkoxyl group, an aryloxyl group, an alkylamino group, an arylamino group or a heterocyclic group which may be substituted;
c, d, e and f each represent an integer of 1 to 5;
when c, d, e and f each represent an integer of 2 or greater, R 11 groups, R 12 groups, R 16 groups, and R 17 groups may be the same or different and may be bonded to each other to form a ring, respectively;
R 13 and R 14 , and R 18 and R 19 may be bonded to each other to form a ring; and
L 2 represents a single bond, —O—, —S—, —N(R)— wherein R represents an alkyl group or an aryl group which may be substituted, an alkylene group or an arylene group.
21 . The electroluminescence device according to claim 18 , wherein the anthracene derivative of formula II is represented by formula II-a:

wherein An is as defined above and X 1 and X 2 each independently represent a residue of naphthalene, phenanthrene, fluoranthene, anthracene, pyrene, perylene, coronene, chrysene, picene, diphenylanthracene, carbazole, triphenylene, rubicene, benzoanthracene, phenylanthracene, bisanthracene, dianthracenylbenzene or dibenzoanthracene, the residue being optionally substituted.
22 . The electroluminescence device according to claim 18 , wherein the arylamine compound is represented by formula V-a:
wherein X 3 is as defined above;
A 15 to A 18 each independently represent hydrogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group having 1 to 50 carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group having 5 to 50 carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted aralkyl group having 7 to 50 carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted cycloalkyl group having 3 to 50 carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted alkoxyl group having 1 to 50 carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted aryloxyl group having 5 to 50 carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted arylamino group having 5 to 50 carbon atoms or a substituted or unsubstituted alkylamino group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms;
g, h, i and j each represent an integer of 0 to 5;
n represents an integer of 0 to 3;
when g, h, i and j each represent an integer of 2 or greater, A 15 groups, A 16 groups, A 17 groups, and A 18 groups may be the same or different and may be bonded to each other to form a saturated or unsaturated ring, respectively; and
at least one of A 15 to A 18 represents a substituted or unsubstituted secondary or tertiary alkyl group having 3 to 10 carbon atoms.
23 . The electroluminescence device according to claim 18 , wherein the arylamine compound is represented by formula V-b:
wherein X 3 is as defined above;
A 15 to A 18 each independently represent hydrogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group having 1 to 50 carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group having 5 to 50 carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted aralkyl group having 7 to 50 carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted cycloalkyl group having 3 to 50 carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted alkoxyl group having 1 to 50 carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted aryloxyl group having 5 to 50 carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted arylamino group having 5 to 50 carbon atoms or a substituted or unsubstituted alkylamino group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms;
g, h, i and j each represent an integer of 0 to 5;
when g, h, i and j each represent an integer of 2 or greater, A 15 groups, A 16 groups, A 17 groups, and A 18 groups may be the same or different and may be bonded to each other to form a saturated or unsaturated ring, respectively;
R 24 and R 25 each independently represent hydrogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group having 6 to 20 carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted aralkyl group having 7 to 50 carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted alkoxyl group having 1 to 50 carbon atoms or a substituted or unsubstituted aryloxyl group having 5 to 50 carbon atoms;
k and m each represent an integer of 0 to 2; and
at least one of R 24 and R 25 represents a substituted or unsubstituted secondary or tertiary alkyl group having 3 to 10 carbon atoms.
24 . The electroluminescence device according to claim 18 , wherein a weight ratio of the component A and the component B is 1:99 to 20:80.
25 . The electroluminescence device according to claim 18 , wherein a layer of a chalcogenide, a layer of a metal halide or a layer of a metal oxide is disposed on at least one surface of the pair of electrodes.
26 . The electroluminescence device according to claim 18 , wherein a mixed region comprising a reducing dopant and organic substances or a mixed region comprising an oxidizing dopant and organic substances is disposed on at least one surface of the pair of electrodes.
27 . The electroluminescence device according to claim 18 , wherein the layer of an organic light emitting medium has a thickness of 10 to 400 nm.
28 . An organic light emitting medium which comprises:
(A) at least one arylamine compound represented by formula V:
wherein X 3 is a residue of a condensed aromatic compound which is selected from the group consisting of naphthalene, phenanthrene, fluoranthene, anthracene, perylene, coronene, chrysene, picene, diphenylanthracene, fluorene, triphenylene, rubicene, benzoanthracene, phenylanthracene, bisanthracene, dianthracenylbenzene, and dibenzoanthracene, the residue being optionally substituted;
Ar 5 and Ar 6 each independently represent a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic group having 6 to 40 carbon atoms; and
p represents an integer of 1 to 4; and
(B) at least one anthracene derivative represented by formula I:
A 1 -L-A 2 (I)
wherein A 1 and A 2 may be the same or different and each independently represent a substituted or unsubstituted monophenylanthryl group or a substituted or unsubstituted diphenylanthryl group, and L represents a single bond or a divalent bonding group;
or formula II:
A 3 -An-A 4 (II)
