Abstract
A container, utilized for the storage and transport of articles, includes a body comprised of one or more sidewalls drawn in a generally longitudinal fashion and two end pieces, disposed distally on either end of the container body. A plurality of ribs are disposed between the end pieces to facilitate inward compression of the container body. In his manner, the container volume can be permanently or temporarily altered to take up the tolerance between the volume of articles and the otherwise fixed volume of the package.

fabricating a container that includes a body disposed between two end pieces, wherein one or more ribs are disposed on the body to provide a structural crease; filling the container with one or more articles; and applying force to the container in one or more locations to create compressions proximate to the ribs to reduce the internal volume of the container.
2 . The method according to claim 1 , immediately prior to filling the container further including:

3 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein
the container is made of a metal, an aluminum, an alloy, a non-resiliently deformable plastic, a non-resiliently deformable polymer, or a steel.

the container is compressed via an external force and/or a vacuum drawn from the inside of the container.
5 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein
the external force is applied until the pressure reaches a predetermined limit.
6 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein
