Portable clothes line

Abstract

A portable clothes line having foldable legs able to be held in an extended position by struts which have at an upper end a traveller which slides in and along a lowermost open cavity provided by body being an elongated aluminium extrusion.

1 . A portable clothes line comprising:
 a body;   at least one leg pivotally attached to the body at or toward each end of the body; and   a strut extending between the body and a respective leg or legs;   wherein the strut is pivotally attached at one end with respect to at least one of the legs or a cross member attached to the leg or legs and at a further end pivotally to a traveller, wherein the body has a central frame member having a constant cross sectional shape and size along at least most of its length, wherein the portion of constant cross sectional shape comprises a cavity with a lower most opening to outside, and wherein the traveller to which an upper end of the strut is attached is configured to slidably engage along the cavity with a portion at least within the cavity.   
     
     
         2 . A portable clothes line as in  claim 1 , having within the cavity, a catch for the or each traveller providing a releasable retention of the traveller in a position which will maintain the strut in a position so as to maintain the leg or legs in an extended position. 
     
     
         3 . A portable clothes line as in  claim 1 , wherein both the catch, and the traveller are a shape and size which can be slid into position from an end of the body portion of constant cross sectional shape. 
     
     
         4 . A portable clothes line as in  claim 1 , wherein the body has arms attached at each end in respect of the opposite directions and there are means to support a clothes line between respective arms at opposite ends of the body. 
     
     
         5 . A portable clothes line as in  claim 4 , wherein each arm has an extruded aluminum member having at least one cavity with an opening along its length within which a line support can be positioned. 
     
     
         6 . A portable clothes line as in  claim 1 , further characterized in that the central frame member is comprised of an elongate member of extruded aluminum. 
     
     
         7 . A portable clothes line as in  claim 1 , further characterized in that the central frame member has a further cavity above the first mentioned cavity. 
     
     
         8 . A portable clothes line as in  claim 2 , wherein both the catch, and the traveller are a shape and size which can be slid into position from an end of the body portion of constant cross sectional shape. 
     
     
         9 . A portable clothes line as in  claim 2 , wherein the body has arms attached at each end in respect of the opposite directions and there are means to support a clothes line between respective arms at opposite ends of the body. 
     
     
         10 . A portable clothes line as in  claim 9 , wherein each arm has an extruded aluminum member having at least one cavity with an opening along its length within which a line support can be positioned. 
     
     
         11 . A portable clothes line as in  claim 3 , wherein the body has arms attached at each end in respect of the opposite directions and there are means to support a clothes line between respective arms at opposite ends of the body. 
     
     
         12 . A portable clothes line as in  claim 11 , wherein each arm has an extruded aluminum member having at least one cavity with an opening along its length within which a line support can be positioned.
