Abstract

This invention relates to a portable, self-contained tarping system for on site containers comprising a tarp, support bows, and a rack. This tarping system provides coverage for a stationary container to prevent contents from failing out of the container and also to prevent rainwater from gathering and causing run-off into surrounding land.

1 . A portable, self-contained tarping system for an on site container comprising:
 a tarp having a lead rope; and   a plurality of support bows;   wherein said tarp is connected to a rack comprising a lift capable of raising or lowering said tarp to a desired height.   
     
     
         2 . The system as in  claim 1 , wherein said rack is capable of storing said tarp and said support bows when not in use. 
     
     
         3 . The system as in  claim 1 , wherein the rack further comprises wheels and/or forklift pockets. 
     
     
         4 . The system as in  claim 1  wherein the system comprises the following steps for deployment on a container:
 the rack is position at one end of the container 
 the tarp is raised by way the lift on the rack to a height desired by user; 
 the tarp is unrolled over the top of the container by pulling on the lead rope; 
 the lead rope is fastened on the container; 
 the support bows are arranged under the tarp and clamped onto the container by way of support channels; and 
 the lift is lowered to lower the tarp over the container. 
 
     
     
         5 . The system as in  claim 1 , wherein the system comprises the steps to be withdrawn from the container:
 the lift raises the tarp to a height above the container;   the support bows are removed from the container and placed on the rack;   the lead rope is untied from the container;   the tarp is roiled onto the lift on the rack; and   the lift is lowered to a neutral position.   
     
     
         6 . The system as in  claim 1  wherein the lift comprises a hand crank to manually raise Or lower the tarp on the lift.
