Method for Creating Chinese Character Scripts and Chinese Character-Based Scripts of Other Languages
Abstract
A method for learning scripts of Chinese character-based languages includes forming a list of user-recognized symbols in a Chinese character-based language, each of the symbols having an associated key with a respective bridge. A complex Chinese multi-character to be learned and added to the recognized list is identified. A set of the user-recognized symbols within the multi-character is recognized. A mnemonic in a language known to the user is formed for recalling the written form of the multi-character. The mnemonic is based upon the keys and bridges associated with the recognized set of symbols within the multi-character. The mnemonic is used to remember the multi-character and, thereby, add the multi-character to the recognized list. Chinese radicals can be sources associated with icons having a logical similarity thereto. The source has the bridge in upper case and three icons use two combinations of lower/upper case and two lower case letters.

exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method for creating scripts of Chinese-character-based languages, which comprises:
placing in a key-symbol dictionary bridge entries in the form of text viewable on at least a portion of at least one dictionary page, each of said bridge entries:
being respectively associated with a single Chinese radical within a set of Chinese radicals;
having the single Chinese radical as a symbol;
having a single keyword corresponding to a given meaning of the single Chinese radical, the single keyword:
being in a user's language and having letters in the user's alphabet; and
including therein a bridge comprised of at least one of the letters; and
having a plurality of different memory joggers, each of the different memory joggers being a word in the user's language containing therein the bridge;
transcribing on at least one page of the key-symbol dictionary a list of user-recognized radicals in a Chinese-character-based language; transcribing, for each item in the list:
the bridge contained within the key-symbol dictionary associated with the respective one of the user-recognized radicals; and
the keyword contained within the key-symbol dictionary associated with the bridge and the respective
one of the user-recognized radicals;
identifying a complex Chinese multi-character to be learned; transcribing a set of at least two of the user-recognized radicals within the complex Chinese multi-character to be learned; transcribing a mnemonic in the language of the user for recalling the written form of the complex Chinese multi-character, the mnemonic being based upon the keywords, memory joggers, and bridges associated with the recognized set of the at least two user-recognized radicals within the complex Chinese multi-character; and transcribing the recognized set of the user-recognized radicals to form the written multi-character utilizing the mnemonic.
2 . The method according to claim 1 , which further comprises carrying out the list-transcribing step by transcribing the list of user-recognized Chinese radicals on a page of the key-symbol dictionary.

The method according to claim 1 , which further comprises carrying out the step of transcribing the list of user-recognized radicals by transcribing user-known single Chinese characters on a page of the key-symbol dictionary and, for each user-known character, determining and transcribing a pre-defined bridge for the single Chinese radical and a keyword associated with the pre-defined bridge utilizing the key-symbol dictionary.
4 . The method according to claim 3 , which further comprises utilizing the bridge as the first two letters of the selected keyword.
5 . The method according to claim 1 , which further comprises carrying out the set-transcribing step by transcribing combinations of the user-recognized radicals in the multi-character.
6 . The method according to claim 5 , wherein the multi-character has a meaning different from constituent parts of the user-recognized radicals within the multi-character when read separately.
7 . The method according to claim 1 , which further comprises carrying out the mnemonic-transcribing step by:
breaking down the multi-character into the user-recognized radicals within the list; recalling the associated keywords of each of the user-recognized radicals within the multi-character; recalling the associated bridges of the recalled keywords; selecting memory joggers in the key-symbol dictionary to be associated with one another to form the mnemonic; and transcribing the mnemonic in the language of the user based upon the selected memory joggers.
8 . The method according to claim 1 , which further comprises carrying out the mnemonic-transcribing step by emphasizing the bridge within the mnemonic.
9 . The method according to claim 1 , which further comprises carrying out the mnemonic-transcribing step by emphasizing the bridge with a different typeface than the remainder of the letters in the mnemonic.
10 . The method according to claim 1 , which further comprises carrying out the set-transcribing step by applying the mnemonic to recreate all sub-parts of the multi-character to be written.
11 . The method according to claim 10 , which further comprises recreating the sub-parts by:
recalling the mnemonic associated with the multi-character; extracting the memory joggers within the transcribed mnemonic; extracting the bridges contained within the memory joggers; identifying the keywords associated with the extracted bridges; recalling the user-recognized radicals associated with the identified keywords; and transcribing the user-recognized radicals associated with each of the identified keywords to form the written multi-character.
12 . The method according to claim 1 , which further comprises drawing the multi-character after receiving the corresponding meaning of the multi-character in the user's language by recalling and deconstructing the mnemonic for that multi-character.
13 . The method according to claim 12 , which further comprises carrying out the deconstructing step by:
extracting the memory joggers within the transcribed mnemonic; extracting the bridges from the memory joggers; identifying the keywords associated with the extracted bridges; recalling the user-recognized radicals associated with the identified keywords; and transcribing the user-recognized radicals to form the multi-character.
14 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the Chinese-character-based language is selected from at least one of the group consisting of Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Fu, Cantonese, Amoy Hokkien, Taiwanese, Thai, Vietnamese, Singaporean.
15 . The method according to claim 1 , which further comprises selecting the language of the user from one of Latin alphabet-based languages and transliterations of non-Latin alphabet-based languages.
16 . The method according to claim 15 , which further comprises selecting the language of the user from Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, German, Russian, Greek, Hebrew, Aramaic, and Arabic.
17 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the user-recognized radicals include Chinese characters.
18 . The method according to claim 1 , which further comprises:
learning a new radical in the Chinese-character-based language not already present in the list; transcribing on a page of the key-symbol dictionary the new radical in the list; and transcribing in the list:
the bridge contained within the key-symbol dictionary associated with the new radical; and
the keyword contained within the key-symbol dictionary associated with the bridge and the new radical.
19 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the bridge is comprised of at least two of the letters of the single keyword.
20 . A method for creating scripts of a Chinese-character-based language based upon a list of user-recognized radicals, which comprises:
placing in a key-symbol dictionary bridge entries in the form text viewable on at least a portion of at least one dictionary page, each of said bridge entries:
being respectively associated with a single Chinese radical within a set of Chinese radicals;
having the single Chinese radical as a symbol;
having a single keyword corresponding to a given meaning of the single Chinese radical, the single keyword:
being in a user's language and having letters in the user's alphabet; and
including therein a bridge comprised of at least one of the letters; and
having a plurality of different memory joggers, each of the different memory joggers being a word in the user's language containing therein the bridge;
transcribing a list of user-recognized radicals in a Chinese-character-based language; transcribing a respective keyword and a bridge that is part of the keyword along with each radical in the user-recognized list of radicals; identifying a complex Chinese multi-character to be learned; transcribing a mnemonic in the language of the user for recalling the written form of the complex Chinese multi-character, the mnemonic being based upon the keywords, memory joggers, and bridges associated with a set of user-recognized radicals contained within the multi-character; and transcribing the user-recognized radicals to form the written multi-character utilizing the mnemonic.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
