Abstract

A weighted chisel-shaped tip is attached to a generally triangular and concave fluke. Extensions are attached to either side of the fluke, proximal to the aft edge and extending outward from the centerline of the fluke. A roll bar is attached to the extensions. A shaft is attached along the centerline of the top of the fluke, extending perpendicularly from and forward of the top of the fluke. The shaft provides an attach point for an anchor rode. A plurality of fasteners enables assembly and disassembly of the marine anchor.

1 . A marine anchor, comprising:
 a fluke assembly, comprising:
 a fluke having a forward edge, an aft edge and a centerline, said fluke further having a plurality of holes configured to accommodate assembly and disassembly of a shank assembly to said fluke assembly; 
 a chisel-shaped tip, attached to the forward edge of said fluke, designed to penetrate a mooring bed and to bias the weight distribution of said marine anchor toward the forward end of said marine anchor; and 
 two extensions located and attached proximal to the aft edge of said fluke, one of said extensions being located on either side of said fluke and extending outward from the centerline of said fluke, each said extension having one or more holes designed to accommodate assembly and disassembly of a roll bar assembly to said fluke assembly, said extensions designed and configured to provide an increased effective width of said fluke assembly; 
   a roll bar assembly, comprising:
 a roll bar designed to cause the marine anchor to roll into a proper orientation for penetration and setting into a mooring bed; and 
 two flanges, one of said flanges attached to either end of said roll bar, each said flange having one or more holes designed to accommodate attachment of said roll bar assembly to said extensions of said fluke assembly; 
   a first plurality of fasteners designed to accommodate assembly and disassembly of said roll bar assembly to said fluke assembly;   a shaft assembly, comprising:
 a shaft having a forward end and an aft end, said shaft having an attach point at said forward end designed to accommodate attachment of an anchor rode; and 
 a base, attached to said aft end of said shaft, said base having a plurality of holes designed to accommodate assembly and disassembly of said shaft assembly to said fluke assembly; and 
   a second plurality of fasteners designed to accommodate assembly and disassembly of said shaft assembly to said fluke assembly.   
     
     
         2 . The marine anchor according to  claim 1 , wherein said first plurality of fasteners are bolt/nut combinations. 
     
     
         3 . The marine anchor according to  claim 1 , wherein said second plurality of fasteners are bolt/nut combinations. 
     
     
         4 . The marine anchor according to  claim 1 , wherein:
 said plurality of holes in said fluke are threaded; and   said first plurality of fasteners comprise combinations of a threaded stud,   said threaded stud permanently fastened within said plurality of holes, and nuts.   
     
     
         5 . The marine anchor according to  claim 1 , wherein:
 said one or more holes in each said extension are threaded; and   said second plurality of fasteners comprise combinations of a threaded stud, said threaded stud permanently fastened within said one or more holes, and nuts.   
     
     
         6 . The marine anchor according to  claim 1 , wherein said fluke has a generally triangular and concave shape. 
     
     
         7 . The marine anchor according to  claim 1 , wherein said roll bar has a generally semi-circular shape. 
     
     
         8 . The marine anchor according to  claim 1 , wherein said attach point is a hole or a slot. 
     
     
         9 . The marine anchor according to  claim 1 , wherein said shaft further comprises a second attach point, located proximal to the aft end of said shaft, designed to accommodate attachment of an anchor rode or an anchor buoy. 
     
     
         10 . The marine anchor according to  claim 9 , wherein said second attach point is a hole or a slot. 
     
     
         11 . A marine anchor, comprising:
 a fluke assembly, comprising:
 a fluke having a leading edge, an aft edge, a centerline, and a plurality of holes configured to accommodate assembly and disassembly of a shank assembly to said fluke assembly; and 
 two extensions located and attached proximal to said aft edge of said fluke, one of said extensions being located on either side of said fluke and extending outward from said centerline of said fluke, each said extension having one or more holes designed to accommodate assembly and disassembly of a roll bar assembly to said fluke assembly; 
   a roll bar assembly, comprising:
 a roll bar; and 
 two flanges, one of said flanges attached to either end of said roll bar, each said flange having one or more holes configured to accommodate assembly and disassembly of said roll bar assembly to said extensions of said fluke assembly; 
   a first plurality of fasteners designed to accommodate assembly and disassembly of said roll bar assembly to said fluke assembly;   a shaft assembly, comprising:
 a shaft having a forward end and an aft end, and 
 a base, attached to said aft end of said shaft, said base having a plurality of holes configured to accommodate assembly and disassembly of said shaft assembly to said fluke assembly; and 
   a second plurality of fasteners designed to accommodate assembly and disassembly of said shaft assembly to said fluke assembly.   
     
     
         12 . The marine anchor according to  claim 11 , wherein said first plurality of fasteners are bolt/nut combinations. 
     
     
         13 . The marine anchor according to  claim 11 , wherein said second plurality of fasteners are bolt/nut combinations. 
     
     
         14 . The marine anchor according to  claim 11 , wherein:
 said plurality of holes in said fluke are threaded; and   said first plurality of fasteners comprise combinations of a threaded stud, said threaded stud permanently fastened within said plurality of holes, and nuts.   
     
     
         15 . The marine anchor according to  claim 11 , wherein:
 said one or more holes in each said extension are threaded; and   said second plurality of fasteners comprise combinations of a threaded stud, said threaded stud permanently fastened within said one or more holes, and nuts.   
     
     
         16 . A marine anchor, comprising:
 a fluke assembly, comprising:
 a fluke having a forward edge, an aft edge and a centerline; 
 a chisel-shaped tip, attached to the forward edge of said fluke, designed to penetrate a mooring bed and to bias the weight distribution of said marine anchor toward the forward end of said marine anchor; and 
 two extensions located and attached proximal to the aft edge of said fluke, one of said extensions being located on either side of said fluke and extending outward from the centerline of said fluke, said extensions designed and configured to provide an increased effective width of said fluke assembly; 
   a roll bar, attached proximal to the aft edge of said fluke, designed to cause the marine anchor to roll into a proper orientation for penetration and setting into a mooring bed; and   a shaft having a forward end and an aft end, said aft end of said shaft attached along said centerline of said fluke, said fluke having an attach point at said forward end designed to accommodate attachment of an anchor rode.   
     
     
         17 . The marine anchor according to  claim 16 , wherein said fluke has a generally triangular and concave shape. 
     
     
         18 . The marine anchor according to  claim 16 , wherein said roll bar has a generally semi-circular shape. 
     
     
         19 . The marine anchor according to  claim 16 , wherein said attach point is a hole or a slot.
