Stripping device
Abstract
In the case of a stripping device ( 3 ) for use with a cutting tool ( 1 ) with a cutting element, in particular a punch ( 2 ), for machining a workpiece, in particular a curved metal sheet ( 6 ), at least one fastening piece ( 4, 28, 40 ) for fastening it to the cutting tool, a spring-elastic element ( 21 ) arranged outside the workpiece contact region, a stripping element ( 15, 34 ) which comes into contact with the workpiece and surrounds the cutting element ( 2 ), and at least one guide element ( 11, 26, 33 ) guiding the stripping element ( 15, 34 ) being provided, a device for securing against rotation is provided to essentially prevent the stripping element ( 15 ) from rotating.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 24 . (canceled)
25 . A stripping device for attachment to a machine and for removing a workpiece from a punch, the stripping device comprising:
a guide sleeve including a longitudinal axis, a cylindrical region extending along the longitudinal axis that defines an inner surface, and an end plate that is integrally formed with the cylindrical region, that projects from the inner surface toward the longitudinal axis at one end of the cylindrical region, and that defines a bore having a non-circular perimeter; a stripping element for insertion along the longitudinal axis into the bore of the guide sleeve and being configured to move relative to the guide sleeve, the stripping element defining a passage configured to cooperate with the punch and consisting of a straight section integrally formed with a protruding section;
the straight section including a front surface for contacting the workpiece and having a perimeter along the length thereof that substantially corresponds to the non-circular perimeter of the bore, the perimeter of the straight section and the non-circular perimeter of the bore cooperating to prevent substantial relative rotation between the stripping element and the guide sleeve,
the protruding section extending away from the longitudinal axis at one end thereof and being configured to slidably engage the inner surface and to abut the end plate during operation of the stripping device; and
a spring-elastic element being insertable into the guide sleeve to bear against the stripping element and including an opening configured to receive the punch therethrough, the spring-elastic element being compressible along the longitudinal axis during operation of the stripping device.
26 . The stripping device of claim 25 wherein the passage of the stripping element has a circular cross section.
27 . The stripping device of claim 25 wherein the perimeter of the straight section of the stripping element includes a planar surface extending from the front surface to the protruding section and the non-circular perimeter of the bore includes a planar surface that cooperates with the planar surface of the straight section to prevent substantial relative rotation between the stripping element and the guide sleeve.
28 . The stripping device of claim 25 wherein the guide sleeve includes a integral flange configured to secure the stripping device to the machine.
29 . The stripping device of claim 25 wherein the stripping element is metallic.
30 . The stripping device of claim 25 wherein the stripping element is bronze.
31 . The stripping device of claim 25 further including a retaining member for insertion into the guide sleeve to bear against the spring-elastic element, the retaining member defining a retaining bore sized to slidably receive the punch.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
