Abstract
A device is presented for use in treatment of tissues inside a body cavity. The device comprises a probe member having at least a portion thereof carrying a plurality of light sources, at least said portion of the probe member having dimensions and shape suitable for insertion into a certain body cavity and for arranging within the surface thereof a three-dimensional array of said light sources, the light sources being configured and operable to irradiate optical energy outwardly from said probe member.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method for use in photobiomodulation treatment of a woman's vagina, the method comprising:
defining a treatment plan for the photobiomodulation treatment of a woman's vagina using illumination of vagina's wall by radiation emitted by light emitting diodes (LEDs), wherein the treatment plan comprises a schedule of multi-day treatment, a number of treatment sessions, duration of each treatment session, and illumination conditions including combinations of wavelength ranges to be used in the treatment sessions, either one or both of pulse and continuous-wave modes of operation for each wavelength used, a duration of a light pulse, a period of pulses, an intensity of the emitted light, and a duration of the illumination; providing a treatment kit comprising a set of a predetermined number of disposable tampon-like probe members, wherein the predetermined number of disposable tampon-like probe members corresponds to said schedule of the multi-day treatment, and each tampon-like probe member carries a plurality of a predetermined number and distribution of LEDs configured and operable in accordance with the illumination conditions to irradiate monochromatic or polychromatic optical energy outwardly from the respective probe member; providing instructions for using said disposable tampon-like probe members for treatment of a woman's vagina according to the treatment plan.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said treatment plan for the photobiomodulation is defined for achieving modulation of one or more of the following parameters of the vagina wall:
increase in mucous secretion; increase in elasticity of the wall; increase in firmness of the wall; increase of blood circulation in blood vessels adjacent to the wall; decrease in diameter of said body cavity; tissue rejuvenation.
3 . A treatment kit for use in use photobiomodulation treatment of a woman's vagina, the treatment kit comprising:
a set of a predetermined number of disposable tampon-like probe members and instructions for using said disposable tampon-like probe members for treatment of a woman's vagina, wherein the set of the predetermined number of disposable tampon-like probe members comprises a predetermined number of groups of said probe members selected in accordance with a predetermined schedule of a multi-day treatment and a number of treatment sessions, and each tampon-like probe member carries a plurality of a predetermined number and distribution of light emitting diodes (LEDs) configured and operable in accordance with predetermined illumination conditions for said treatment sessions to irradiate monochromatic or polychromatic optical energy outwardly from the respective probe member, the illumination conditions including combinations of wavelength ranges to be used in the treatment sessions, either one or both of pulse and continuous-wave modes of operation for each wavelength used, a duration of a light pulse, a period of pulses, an intensity of the emitted light, and a duration of the illumination.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
