Hair holding device and method of use

Abstract

The invention discloses a novel hair accessory comprising a monolithic curved base that is ornamental on the outer side and comprises multiple loop shanks on the inner side. The loop shanks are capable of holding an elastic band, affixing the elastic band to the base. The directionality of the look shanks alternates, increasing the difficulty with which the elastic band can be pulled free of the loop shanks accidentally. In the preferred embodiment of the invention, the base is covered with an ornamental cover crafted from exotic leather or other high value material.

A hair holding device comprising a curved base, the base comprising an outside surface and an inside surface, the inside surface comprising multiple pre-formed, successively aligned loop shanks, the loop shanks comprising an attached end and an open end, the loop shanks' open end protruding in sequential, opposite directions, the loop shanks being capable of receiving an elastic band, and the base's outside surface being capable of receiving different ornamental covers. 
     
     
         2 . The hair holding device of  claim 1  wherein the base is made from a material selected from the group consisting of 18 gauge stainless steel, plastic, nickel, silver, gold, a base metal plated in silver and a base metal plated in gold. 
     
     
         3 . The hair holding device of  claim 1  wherein the base further comprises an ornamental cover, the ornamental cover being permanently affixed to the outside surface of the base. 
     
     
         4 . The hair holding device of  claim 1 , wherein the base further comprises an ornamental cover, the ornamental cover being attached to the outside surface of the base with a reusable attachment. 
     
     
         5 . The hair holding device of  claim 1 , wherein the base is manufactured from a malleable and moldable material capable of being adjusted by the application of inward or outward pressure to the base.

A hair holding device comprising a curved base manufactured from a malleable and moldable material capable of being adjusted by the application of inward or outward pressure to the base, the base comprising an outside surface and an inside surface, the inside surface comprising multiple pre-formed, successively aligned loop shanks, the loop shanks comprising an attached end and an open end, the loop shanks' open end protruding in sequential, opposite directions, the loop shanks being capable of receiving an elastic band, and the base's outside surface being capable of receiving different ornamental covers. 
     
     
         7 . The hair holding device of  claim 6  wherein the base further comprises an ornamental cover, the ornamental cover being permanently affixed to the outside surface of the base. 
     
     
         8 . The hair holding device of  claim 6 , wherein the base further comprises an ornamental cover, the ornamental cover being attached to the outside surface of the base with a reusable attachment.
